Soccer game argument leaves man severely injured, and it was not from twisting an ankle

A pickup soccer game in Reston turned violent Sunday afternoon, leaving one man with life-threatening injuries.
Two groups of adult men met to play on a field at South Lakes High School. During the game, there was an argument. It escalated and someone pulled out a sharp instrument, according to Tawny Wright, Fairfax County Police spokesperson.
Police were called to the scene at 2:20 p.m.
One man was stabbed in the upper body and transported to Reston Hospital, where his injuries are considered life-threatening, Wright said. Another man was stabbed in the leg.
Neither of the victims’ names or ages have been released. The assailant left the scene and as of 4:30 p.m. remained at large.
