REI store brand clothes are pretty good, but Eddie Bauer is the best.

Amen. Eddie Bauer above all. Duluth Trading a close second.

Wrong and wrong! Eddie Bauer is a brand name that has been passed around more times than a Kardashian. The name means even less than an obammy Nobel Peace Prize. Duluth is overpriced for the potato sacks they sell. LLBean is good stuff.

LL Bean was a great outfitter 20+ years ago but they suck now, the quality of their goods has gone way low. Most of my gear comes from Cabellas now but even with Cabellas some of what they sell is cheap Chinese made stuff.
When you enjoy fishing and tent camping in Michigan during the winter like I do you find out very quickly who makes top quality gear.

Eddie Bauer - for when you want a semi-rugged look while sitting on the couch watching tv.

LL Bean - for venturing outside to rake leaves or clear frost from your windshield.

Duluth - for a shirt long enough to cover your enormous butt crack.

REI - for ventures beyond your yard.

I've been pleased with most of the LL Bean clothes I've had. Coats and dress shirts are great. The corduroys look great but don't last very long - buttons breaking, shrinking, discoloration. I love their base layer/long underwear, it's awesome.

LOL. They're ALL made in the same factories in China.
Only the labels are different.

Bean makes good boots. I bought a pair of their Maine Hunting Shoes in 1975 that I wore in the woods for many years. A couple years ago, I sent them back for new bottoms and expect to get another 40 years out of them. I've also bought their wool hunting pants and shirts. If you want real wool clothing for wear in the woods, Bean is the place. I don't know about their fashionable stuff. Never bought anything for fashion reasons, just utility.

Filson is another good brand for long wear.

I would but their things are too expensive - even the sale items are too costly.

LL Bean hasn't been worth a shit in 20 years. The fact that the hag goes public with a $20K donation... knowing that it will piss off a majority of the electorate... well, you get what you pay for.

LL Bean, for when you need an outdoorsy looking gift for grandma. Lame faux outdoor gear.

Wife had a watch from llbean that stopped working after 16 years. Contacted llbean and they sent her a new one immediately for free, no questions asked. Wonder if their guarantee is still as generous.

Totally unethical with this endorsement from PEOTUS.

Cabela's quality is shit now. You used to could get 5-6 years out of a pair of their waders, now 2 years is a long time. Wait until the BPS buyout is complete, quality will go even lower.

Most of the retail outlets are for neckbeard hipster fucksticks that just want to look like a lumberjack. That includes Filson, EB, REI.....LL Bean "seems" to be starting to get back to their roots. I know some guys who have bought gear from them lately and they like it.

It's trial and error to find what works for you. Kuiu and First Lite are nice (but expensive) for big game; I have had decent luck with Drake and Natgear for waterfowl, Lacrosse for waders, Muck rubber boats, Danner leather boots.....

Patagonia/North Face.....expensive fashion garbage to make people think they are badasses.

I don't know about now, but they made some great Jackets.

I got one in '96 from my mom (bless her heart)

It was so good, I could only wear it when it was freezing and below

One day I waited for the bus and it was 0 degrees F. I stood still and didn't feel anything but totally warm.

My co-workers laughed though because it looked like something somebody would wear in Alaska.

If you read the entire list from the America-Haters at "Grab Your Wallets", you'll realize you have to boycott 90% of American retail.

If you look into the site, and see how it is full of Liberal nonsense, you'll see that Amazon should be boycotted, but the Washington Post should not be boycotted (let me remind you that Jeff Bezos owns Amazon and owns the Washington Post).

Liberal cry-babies want milk.

LL Bean used to be really good. Now their stuff is made in foreign 3rd world countries where the sizes are made much smaller for populations with smaller sized bodies. I have a jacket made from LL bean from the year around 2000 that has a tough metal zipper and wool lining and about 9 pockets inner and outer and it is heavy gauge material. I still wear it, and it is an XL size. I have to buy a size "3XL" to get the same sized garment that fits, and the zippers are now made with flimsy plastic and break within a year. The material is light and flimsy and lined with flannel instead of wool. The catch is that when they changed the sizing labellings making an XL into a 3XL, they also added an extra $5.00 to an already inflated price. When a flannel shirt made in China for a cost of a couple dollars costs 59.95 at LL Bean, there is something wrong. I no longer participate.
