Dear Neighbor,

It was a privilege to be sworn in as a Member of the 115th Congress last week, and representing you continues to be the great honor of my life. Since November, we have received an outpouring of concern from neighbors expressing their disappointment, anger, and fear regarding the policies and appointments announced by the President-elect and his transition team. I share those sentiments and will be steadfast in my commitment to fighting for our values each and every day.

Last week, the House Majority opened this Congress on a shameful and disappointing note. Rather than look for opportunities to find common ground, they instead passed a partisan Rules package that would stifle dissent and curtail free speech and continue their unrelenting and misguided assault on our federal workforce.

I opposed that package because I don’t believe it represents our values or America’s priorities. Our country demands that Congress address the real challenges we face.

That means fighting to protect and grow Northern Virginia’s economy and making sure everyone has access to a good education. We should be investing in a 21st-Century economy that maintains our global competitiveness. We should immediately pass a bipartisan infrastructure bill that will help repair our crumbling roads, bridges and transit systems. We need to fix our broken immigration system and oppose efforts that call for mass deportations. We should build on the successes of the Affordable Care Act, while fixing its flaws, rather than repeal it with no replacement plan. And we must to work to pass commonsense gun safety measures that will make our communities safer.

As this Congress begins, I want to hear from you and know your priorities. Please sign-up for my e-newsletter, or email my office to share any concerns or issues you may have. You can also fill out our “115th Congress: Issue Priorities” survey, and let me know what issues you think Congress should address.

I look forward to serving you.

Sincerely,

Gerald E. Connolly
Member of Congress
11th District of Virginia

In other words, besides bashing Republicans, I have no idea what to do in Congress.

Very sad.

He was Obama's fair haired girlyboy for 8 years and he wanted to start kissing Hillary's fat ass too but she lost. Tough shit. He needs to find a real job
and move over for someone who isn't a blindly obedient rubber stamp operator.

Trump agrees with you that our infrastructure needs work. So work on that with him and tell your colleagues to quit trying to delegitimize him.

The election is over, he beat your candidate fair and square, and the Russians haven't been shown to have moved a single vote. So get over it already; there's a nation to be fixed.

If, four years from now, nothing's any better, THEN gripe about him. You Democrats are the biggest crybabies and sore losers I've ever seen. If the GOP had carried on after a Hillary win as you have after Trump's, we'd have been crucified by everyone. But you're doing everything short of shooting to keep him from even getting to be POTUS. And the only reason you're not shooting is that you hate guns.

Trump is going to show you how a country can be run efficiently and with common sense. Try to keep up, OK?

My priority this year is to get a light bulb screwed in. My problem is all the upgrades to my home to get the socket working!

"As this Congress begins, I want to hear from you and know your priorities."

What a bunch of bullshit. I've e-mailed him with questions and asked for specific answers but when I do hear back from him all I get is rhetorical crap and he
never gives a straight answer. I've tried to get through on his telephone "Town Halls" but never do because they're rigged from the start. Notice nobody ever
gets through who has an opposing viewpoint? The "callers" always give him softball questions which leaves me to believe it's all pre-arranged. He is a bullshitter
and nothing more.

My priority is to get him out of congress as soon as possible. He should resign for the sake of the district and the nation.
