MGM National Harbor is a Harvard Business School marketing (facepalm-FAIL) case study waiting to write itself.

1. The business case is that Washington DC has millions of tourists each year and if only a fraction of those people went gambling then $$$ Ka-Ching $$$.

2. The second business case is that the region is one of the wealthiest in the country and there must be millions in disposable income to drop at the casino each month.

3. The third is that there isn't very much local competition in gaming and half of MGM National Harbor revenue could come from non-gambling.

That's the business case and let's examine why each one will be an absolute FAIL in the coming years.

1. Do you really see parents taking little Johnnie to the Air & Museum Museum and then thinking let's take Johnnie to go see some ghetto nightlife at the MGM?? How about WWII vets visiting Arlington National cemetery to see a long lost combat buddy??? LOL, will they go the MGM afterwards too??? For Vegas, the gambling is the destination, what little johnnie does while mom & dad are gambling is secondary. Atlantic City has Wall Street traders & hedge funders wanting to relax, get high and bang hookers. This is the exact opposite of the MGM National Harbor.

2. This area has wealth and high incomes. That wealth and high income is from being on the federal government's dole. Federal workers are some of the most risk adverse people in the country. That's why they choose the security of federal government work versus "gambling" on the private sector. Do you see these high-income Feddies dropping millions at the MGM each month??? I don't think so. They are saving for college, not dropping it at the tables. So where will the high-rollers come from? Beats me.

3. $350 to see Bruno Mars?? I'd rather pay $150 and see him at the Patriot Center or Verizon Center where it's much safer than at the MGM National Harbor. The disposable income just isn't here in this area. High taxes, high home prices and the obligatory BMW Lease soaks up most that "free" cash flow.

The only place they will make money is from ghetto blacks on welfare and black minority owned PG County IT contractors. Nothing else. MGM is doomed to fail and it's only a matter of time.

I look forward to the actual HBS case study, but this is the preview.

I think MGM has plenty of funds to keep this place going long after the novelty wears off.

But.......if it becomes a mecca for nogs and gangs and the killing starts, it will be a ghost town in no time. Niggers alone can't keep a place like this afloat.

I went recently and it was jam packed. I was impressed by the amount of security too, there is a security guard or cop for every 1000 square foot. Every level of the parking garage had security, and cops all over.

That said, the location overall is meh, and the prices for everything is really high. Drinks $9, most tables $50 minimums, paid parking, long lines for everything, lots of negros. I actually felt safe around the negros given the place had more security than a military base in a war zone, but still I don't want to be around them.

I will return in 1 - 2 years to check it out again, in no rush to go back though.


My prediction is the first 5 years it will be fine, I say it closes down around 2026.
