I'm not going to MGM. Not interested in paying for parking. I live in this area so I know I wouldn't be staying in their $400+ per night room rates. Minimum bet will be outrageous for awhile. It's in PG County(that alone says a lot).

I'll be going to my regular place.......HorseShoe. Free parking, not as crowded(at least when I go). Minimum bets are fair. A bit further than MGM(it's in B'more so the trade-off on B'more and PG County isn't much).

Just hope the surrounding area of MGM doesn't go into more of a shithole that it is before MGM showed up.

Will they run free buses plus tokens like the other casinos?

1. I've go to Atlantic City once a year. Agree, outside the casinos in Atlantic City is ghetto. Casinos themselves and the boardwalk are nice. Hence, you don't go outside the surrounding areas from the casino or boardwalk.

2. I also gamble in Baltimore. Horseshoe is nice. Next to M&T stadium. Seems less crowded but I go in the morning to try and avoid beltway traffic. Parking is free. Outside of the casino. Ehhhh, I guess it's somewhat ghetto. Can't really say since I just go in to gamble and then head back home right away. Not walking the streets outside to see what is is like.

3. Been to Vegas. It's more glitter and show but that is Vegas. Again, I don't stroll around the streets taking in the sights.

4. I've been to Reno and there's nothing there except the casinos. Small town not too bad. Definitely never ran into traffic there.

All the casinos at the places I've been have been nice and the staff also nice. I will pass on MGM in P.G. County. For some reason it just doesn't appeal to me.

Charles Town is the easiest drive in the area from NoVa.
A scenic mountain drive.
The tables are much less crowded.
Keep all the glitter, it also has horse racing.

Charles Town any day over these other joints.

If you are a resident of Virginia, you should not be spending any money in a casino outside our state. None of the money you spend at a MD casino or a WV casino will make its way back to VA. As a Virginia citizen, you should be applying political power to Richmond to approve state-wide table gaming here in Virginia.

It's clear that Virginians enjoy table gaming. We represent most of the revenue at Hollywood Casino in WV and MGM in MD. So, if we Virginians enjoy gambling, why not work to get casinos built in Virginia thus keeping the tax revenue in Virginia for Virginians?

Atlantic City can get downright scary away from the boardwalk. No comparison to Oxon Hill. It seriously looks like one of the neighborhoods from The Wire. And Las Vegas probably has more riff raff per square mile than any other city in the country. Parts of it look really nice but it is a magnet for losers.

I got a coupon in the mail from Maryland Live Casino for "One FREE Crisp Fried Snakehead Fish". That's a great deal.

Funny how they call it MGM National Harbor when it should really be MGM Oxon Hill. Call it what it is. MGM be fakin.

Can you actually even walk there from National Harbor? It's close but it looks like it would be a hike and i don't think the surrounding roads are really made for pedestrian traffic.
