It's never been the responsibility of the public schools to teach kids about procreation. That has always been a parent's job. It's incredible how what's taught in schools can drive a wedge between children and parents.

i was earlier than that and i'm slow - and girls in general are 2 years ahead of that

by 8th grade they should only be teaching about VD and how to "choose when, and take care of children responsibly". that's what you should begin to learn before HS

What the hell is going on with the FCPS? Is it my computer or is the audio off (meaning very low) on these meetings?

I felt so sorry for the lady speaking, it was just plain sad.......FCPS is way overstepping in their curriculum.

What the deal? Let's expose kids to everything and then in four years they need safe rooms to hear nothing?

we have to pay them to teach that ?

isn't the internet expensive enough ?

i'm pretty sure by grade 8 they already "found their genitles" and advanced factors such as "avoiding teen pregnancy" is an issue

infact in highschool they had taught "ways to avoid pregnancy" but in a vague manner, if i remember correctly. of course by that time 1/2 the teen pregnancies already occurred !

in which case they could go to Trump's class to find out how to make allot of cash quickly - because they'll need it

Jesus, people...if there's education on subjects being provided that you do not wish your child to receive at school then opt them out. I completely agree that 8th grade was much too late for my daughter to receive sex education so I started that at home many years prior. Then when she got to 8th grade, I didn't want her getting conflicting, confusing or objectionable information from the county, so I opted her out and she used that time more efficiently.
