does anyone have a cheap old verizon phone they don't need anymore? i need to get another line but can only have another line if i have a verizon handset i can associate with the number, I need all calls forwarded to my current one, but need an old one to get the process started, as long as it turns on while plugged in thats good for me!
I have an old LG chocolate. The only thing that's wrong with it is you can't hear incoming or outgoing calls without a headset. Sell it to you for $20.

Make sure you double-check your assumptions, I don't know that Verizon allows no-contract with new lines, even if you bring your own equipment.

Check free cycle. Kids are always upgrading their phones for the latest and greatest and if they're anything like the kids in my neighborhood, their parents have a few old phones in the "catch all" drawer.
since you already have verizon go to bestbuy and get a 30 dollar prepaid phone. They will unload the prepay and load your verizon account stuff. Also if you renew with verizon - the main verizon number can get a new phone at the new account price after a year.
If you are in the first year of the verizon contract the verizon stores will replace the phone for free if it's not working properly unless you have physicallyd damaged it.
OMG. I actually posted something useful on the forum.

It would be useful if it was correct. Buying a prepaid phone works fine for SIM-based phones like those used with AT&T and T-Mobile... just buy, SIM-swap, and throw away the SIM card that came with the prepaid phone and you are good to go.
Verizon will not activate a prepaid phone on a postpaid account until the prepaid phone has been used AS a prepaid phone for six months.

Wrong. Scoot on over to best buy in tysons or reston. the $30 phone holds a charge longer and works better than the broken phone.

ok cool i am getting a free one but if thart does not work the 15 bucks is yours sir
I've got a box of old cellphones at my parents house.. I'm visiting there on Saturday and if there is a verizon phone, I'll give it to you for free just to thwart Rainbow "Moneybags" McStingyface and his unrealistic expectation that his broken old phone is worth $15.
