The hearing today was in General District court. They had 4 witnesses speak the two arresting officers, the lead detective, and someone who worked for the catering company that night. Nothing significant came out of the trial as it is being moved to Circuit Court where it is likely that he'll get a jury trial. He is still out on bond and the charges have yet to be reduced as that is something that will likely happen in his Circuit Court hearing on Nov. 28.

They will probably be reduced and he'll pled to manslaughter. Three to seven are what his lawyers are hoping for. He's still on house arrest.

This young man is innocent! A larger person threatened to kill him and then put her hands on him. What should he have done? Taken a fatal beating? Hell to hell no. He couldnt run so he did what he did to get her off. I heard her people say he could have done this or that but he is not a fighter like Ms Johns is or was. He is a peaceful person unlike Ms Johns, who is a convicted violent felon who served time.

Her being unarmed has nothing to do with the conversation at all, people die everyday from "unarmed" attackers doesn't take a lot of strength to choke someone to death and a single punch can kill. Her being female isn't an excuse either.

Wrong He stabbed her more than once read the police reports.
The folks at the park called police. He dropped his phone when he stabbed her than ran off into the woods. No one from the party put a hand on him.
Va case law clearly states you can't pull a kinfe on an unarmed person.

Very surprised this is going to circuit court. Remember Johnny Bonilla? He is the guy who stabbed a guy to death in Vienna a couple of years ago and claimed self defense and was fully acquitted. He was a drug dealer who said some black guy tried to rob him. Kempton stabbed Ms Johns because he was being physically assaulted. Clear self defense. If Bonilla got off then Mr Bonds should totally get off

Stabbing multiple times is fine, as long as she continued to fight throughout the stabbings. The only thing that would get you in trouble is delivering a coup de grace to a person who is already laying prone and incapacitated by previous wounds.

She was great with my grandkids who whitnessed her brutul murder. They have been in therapy and have trouble sleeping at nite. Kempton was a wierd creep allnite just like his classmates make him out to be.

I had to take my youngest granddaughter whos's 10 to her therapy.
She was really close to the deceased and is having some issues over watching her bleed out and gasp right in front of her.

This case is a terrible tragedy for everyone involved. Mr Bonds went to work that day to his job. Could he have done better? Maybe. But he is not a violent person who was looking to hurry anybody. Ms Johnson was a great Chef who went to work that day to do her job also. What happened later wad total chaos and horrible management by Fairfax and the wedding crew.

The police and the park supervisor told him to keep his distance.
He provoked several people besides the deceased including me who he shoved to open the panel room door. It's all on his recording.
He was pissed after his sup chastised him and told him to turn the power back on.

She was loading chairs.. He approached her accusing her of stealing the chairs. ALL of this is confirmed by the audio and video before he stabbed her. He recorded video and audio for over three hours. All this will come out in court .

Bonds had no marks no bruises and no scratches on his body. No one seen her hit or touch him.
He also said stay away after the stabbing not before. This will be the most critical fact that the DA will use.
Bonds attorney said if anything its manslaughter already he's preparing to plead out.
Be a dummy Kempton and don't take the plea deal.
You deserve the full 20 years if not more.

I will observe that quite of few of the comments by MRD and other reported eyewitnesses was not borne out by the released audio. It would not surprise to learn there are further discrepancies.

Any updates on the situation? I haven't heard anything since the October 31st court date. Is there any further information that has come out in the last two months, or at least a date for when the trial begins? I'm legitimately curious about how this case is going to turn out, and haven't been able to find any recent information online.

He was too young to know better. He was being a man and protecting the interest of his employer. Unfortunately his boss petered out and left him to fend for himself.
These people who rented the pavilion were taking advantage of the fact that there was no one supervising them. No one they couldn't handle, they thought. It was that attitude that got the woman killed, not the employing doing his job in the face of threats and intimidation.

I heard the entire audio recording (part video). I was scared for Kempton. That mob was threating him and so was John's. I heard the part where she says she has bail money and was going to mess him up. Normal people don't do that. I truly feel he will be acquitted and let go.
