Reconfiguration of Danbury Drive & Wakefield Chapel Road Traffic Pattern Now Complete

The traffic reconfiguration, which has returned the left westbound lane east of Wakefield Chapel while also keeping the turn lane extension between Wakefield and Danbury Forest, is now complete. We expect that traffic will now be flowing at previous levels.

In the coming days, FCDOT will be conducting minor daytime "clean up" work, but traffic impact will be minimal. We expect the clean up work to be finished in no more than two weeks.

Supervisor Cook would like to thank the community for its patience during this process. He would also like to thank VDOT and FCDOT for their collaborative and expeditious work on this project. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Supervisor Cook's Office with any questions by calling 703-425-9300 or by emailing braddock@fairfaxcounty.gov.

Would have been great to be a fly on the wall when John Cook brought FCDOT and VDOT into a room and smashed their heads together.

It's not even an election year for him. Nice job.

Traffic is moving better there now.

Though they should still close that intersection altogether and send everyone in and out at the Southampton light.
