Assuming it was supposed to say "men," I don't believe it one bit. I say consider the source. I wonder if that magazine has an audience/demographic of more than 50% gay men, which would skew the statistics a bit. I'd be interested in those poll results from another source.

My brother in law shaves his legs. He used to be heavy into biking, but stopped after a crash a few years ago. He still shaves his legs, saying he got used to it and can't stand the itch when the hair grows back. I think maybe he is a cross dresser...

If I am crashing a lot on my Mt. Bike sometimes I shave my lower leg so Im not ripping off hair with bandages. It looks stupid but try ripping tape off your legs 2x a day and you would shave. Men that do it for road biking are simple douches but if it makes them happy so be it.

I thought the road bikers did it to be aerodynamic. TBH, if your leg hair is actually causing measurable wind resistance, you might have a bigger problem.
