Abandoned Pool Near Green Spring Gardens?

I am wondering if anybody has any information about the abandoned pool that can be found down a path through the woods in/near Green Spring Gardens Park. I wandered down this path a few years ago and stumbled upon what is very clearly an old, abandoned swimming pool with tiles still attached. I have searched the internet, but have not been able to find any information. I have not asked anyone working at the park for fear that I am not supposed to be on this path. It seems too far from the Green Springs residence to have been used by the former occupants of the house. I have taken pictures of the pool, which I need to dig up but I will plan on posting soon. Any info would be great! Thanks.

Do you mean this pool? The first picture is an overlay showing four houses in 2011 on land that previously held 2 houses (in 1997), one of which had a pool. It looks like a small pond was buried also.

No, the pool I'm referring to is not visible from Google Maps because it's in the woods along the creek, past the bridge in the park. I'm no historian, but it is definitely at least decades old and abandoned.

Probably from what was known as the "Tobey House" (now demolished) which was a more modern "historic" home which was back and to the right of the main house now as you face the front.

For some reason search doesn't pick it up and it's hard to find pictures of it, but if you search though the old pictures of Fairfax thread there are some. The location is shown on the map on the third page here.

sounds good, except OP said the abandoned pool is next to the creek.

OP, perhaps what you saw was a remnant of the spring house or maybe there was a dairy on the property along with the spring house.

It's definitely a swimming pool, as there are tiles and a ladder remaining. As stated in the original post, I already have pictures, still looking for them. The Tobey house seems interesting, but the pool seems to be along the creek, near where Spring Street ends now.

Were you behind Jerry's Ford when you discovered the abandoned pool?

I'm thinking that the Tobey House might have been taken when the car dealership was developed around 1973 but the pool wasn't in the land that was developed. I am vaguely remembering the house was on Green Spring Drive on the right hand side of the road around where the back of Jerry's Ford is now located. Green Spring Drive (Road?) used to go between 236 and Braddock Road also went right in front of the historic manor house.

Buts its been a long time ago and I'm not remembering exactly how things were arranged. I do remember the little Gulf station on that corner where the Salvation Army store is now.

From 1969:

I'm thinking probably not it now. It was farther away from the creek than I remembered it being. Was thinking that it sat more up and to the right of the main house. Which it did kind of given how the house/property sits but not relative to the creek.
