Maybe so. But the Orange line will finally be finished with the current repairs. Maybe.

The Orange Line will be extended to Manassas by then.

But traffic can only get so bad before jobs and people relocate elsewhere, or find different ways to live.

Everything will be tolled and it will be very expensive to get to DC timely. Right now, people in Loudoun routinely pay $50 cash per day in parking and tolls. That goes up another $20 next year for those on 66.

Now that they have semi-perfected the gantry technology and the carpetbagger is running the state, look for much more expensive travel around great state of fairfax.

If you are poor, even more reason to stay home and collect gov't benefits instead of working.

Don't worry about it. Wages will rise with the cost of living.

This ^
If I supposedly moved to get away from someplace I didn't like, I sure as hell wouldn't bother to think and write about it.

House value will be way high because of its prime location and not 60 miles outside the beltway like the then new houses will be...or it will plummet because of urban decay.

^ This.

Witness the explosion of high-rise housing construction in Tysons Corner, Reston Town Center, Arlington, and DC. People would rather live in a box than commute 4 - 6 hours per day.

Still, SFHs are being built in Louduon County like they're going out of style, so whadda I know?

I am almost getting to point of getting out of here now. Traffic is getting shittier every year. A 40/45 minute commute takes at least an hour now in the morning and more so in the evening. I left work at 7 and there was a fuck ton of traffic on 66 tonight. It's getting worse and worse. That and too many people driving around NoVa with MD plates. The should GTFO and back across the river.

All cars will be remote controlled by the government and most people will be half human half cat.

I asked myself the same question 12 years ago. My youngest will be out of college in 2 years. I will be leaving this deteriorating hellscape within the year after graduation. The type of job doesn't matter. I'll work at Home Depot for $9/hour as long as my quality of life improves.

Very unlikely. It would take 20 years to design and build it, and Metro's #1 priority after finishing the Silver Line will be to split the Orange and Blue Line tracks through downtown.

Otherwise there seem to be a lot of people who never figured out that there is a trade-off between housing costs and commuting costs. If you are surprised that buying a house in Loudoun County has left you with a long, terrible, and expensive commute into DC, you are a very, very stupid person.
