Does anyone have any details on the death of Elaine Hoeler? My kids have told me that it was suicide. Anyone know anything else?

Depends, do you have any details on who she was and why anyone here would have the answer to your question?

I believe she was a realator and mother of 4 or 5. I was just curious and hoping someone on here would have some answers considering she lived in Fairfax.

Dunno, the arrest search seems to show they were an interesting family. Daughter with domestic assault charges, father with some kind of abduction charge, and sale of a $1M+ house so they had bucks.

Well, Chris, let me ask you a question. Do you think asking her kids directly is more or less sensitive than gossiping or posting rumors that she killed herself?

Well Mr.Mephisto, let me ask you a question. Are you fucking remedial? I didn't post this rumor, that was concerned neighbor. So yes, i feel it is less sensitive to ask a question here anonymously, than to go directly ask the grieving family. That is fucking obvious.

When did this death occur?

Where did this death occur?

Have you checked the paid death notices of the Washington Post or Washington Times?

Usually in a suicide, the death notice says "Suddenly," "Unexpectedly," etc.

I never said that YOU, Chris, were posting suicide rumors. Unless you're also "concerned neighbor," I don't see why you'd get so upset.

If you know the family well enough that you CAN ask her kids what happened, why are you on here asking about it, in direct contradiction to this statement?

FYI, this thread is the top search result for her name in Google. It's only a matter of time before her family or friends see this thread and your posts. If you're worried about doing the "insensitive" thing, well, you can stop worrying. You already did.

Cute picture, though.

+1, I have no idea why people post names of neighbors here, it just gets them exposed in Google for this kind of speculation and crap. It is truly the exact wrong thing to do.

Mephisto,

When you were in school, did you sit at the table with all the kids who kept banging their heads on it, and where followed around by a handler?

1. i am not concerned neighbor.

2. you said

"FYI, this thread is the top search result for her name in Google. It's only a matter of time before her family or friends see this thread and your posts. If you're worried about doing the "insensitive" thing, well, you can stop worrying. You already did."

please show where i typed her name in any of my posts? I am not the person who announced her name, thus making it come up on google.

So wait, you know for a fact it was suicide but you're not sure, or you want to know if one of her kids was traumatized?

I am sick to have read the above posts. I was related to Elaine and although she and her family moved east several years ago I thought of them often. We just received the news a few hours ago and because the family here got only sketchy information I decided to try the internet for more specific information. I am indeed looking for just that. If anyone knows information please email me.

Thank you

Hey, I never claimed to know, be a friend of, or otherwise care about the deceased in any way. Personally, if someone I knew died, the last thing I'd do is post it on here.

"Chris" claims to be friends with the kids, but instead of asking them what happened, he asks a bunch of random people on the internet (which he later says is an insensitive thing to do). When I point out that a friend of the family should probably ask the family directly instead of seeking information in a message board thread that starts with a rumor of suicide, I get insults.

But yes, I would have forgotten to say so if you hadn't reminded me: The poor woman is now worm food. Just like Boo, Bryan, David, and the rest of us will be some day.

I went to elementary school and high school with one of her sons, Chris Hoeler. Apart from Chris she left behind a younger daughter and a set of triplets (I think they are around 8th grade now). I don't know if this is significant and/or applicable, but from what I do remember Mr. Hoeler had an awful temper and recently divorced his wife. He was a high-level exec at Exxon-Mobil, wonder if he still is.

Some people are just plain sick! Why would someone find the above comment even at all funny? Your lack of empathy for this Mr. Hugh Beaumont is why our society is in the sick state that it is. I of course know that my opinion will require a stupid reply from you but know this...WHEN (and there will be a time as we are all human) your family has a crisis of some kind I hope stupid people keep their "off color" thoughts to themselves. Oh and by the way I could care less what you post about this opinion of mine.

Don't lump me in with Chris and concerned neighbor and the rest of them. I was called an asshole in so many words for suggesting it's uncouth to start spreading rumors about someone's suicide on the internet, especially if it hadn't made the news, and double especially if she has kids.

This is probably your first trip down this road, but people come on this message board talking about the deceased all the time. You need to understand that the people on here will NOT feel about her passing the way you do, and that nothing you say will change that.

Any friends and family reading this should take note: If you don't like the things people are going to say in a public setting, your best course of action is to not come to this site and read/respond to the posts. Posting rumors of suicide was a dick thing to do, but it happened, and you can only make it worse.

My due diligence has been done. Good luck, and sorry for your loss.

Personally I would look to the husband--he was abusive, verbally and physically, and knocked the hell out of her prior to their separation. He drove her to it by wearing her down about the kids and used the kids against her. He is some big exec at some big company with lots of money and basically drove her into the ground.

No mother, in her right mind, would take her life and leave her children alone.

Either she was seriously depressed or troubled or that husband of hers drove her to the breaking point.

Often abused women don't talk-they are ashamed.

I guess this shows that abuse happens in all families-even the well to do.

She probably thought by hanging in there it would be best for her kids.

What a pity that she ended up taking her life.

The husband is pond scum.

Someone suggests that the husband drove her to suicide and was abusive and everybody jumps on like it's a given fact. She appeared to be a real estate agent, maybe business sucked and got to her? There is no other reason why women kill themselves? She thought the husband was such a monster that she killed herself to leave her kids totally defenseless?

I was responding to the question "Source?"

My source was Elaine.

The emotional abuse that an abusive person can put upon someone else else should not be discounted especially toward someone as sensitive and caring as she was. She was slowly tortured to death until she felt there was no way out. I hope certain rotten sadistic persons rot in hell for all eternity. I would gladly pay for someone to curse the sources of that abuse and if you are reading this you know who you are. Sadistic bastard.

The Death of my MOTHER
Posted by: Diana Hoeler ()
Date: August 28, 2009 09:36PM

Dear All who have taken it upon themselves to be extremely insensitive to my family and most of all my late mother,

Mind your own buisness. None of the details discussed on this page are true. My father was NOT the least bit abusive, nor does he have a horrible temper. My mother is at peace now, and it is very difficult for all of us to heal when I have to find things like this about her.

MomOfFour: I feel sorry for your children, that is if you have any because you are an adult and discussing another adults passing VERY rudely without any facts. I hope you raise them differently than you were raised.

In the meantime, I will not be revisting this awful page and I would greatly appreciate it if people would stop posting.

PLEASE leave my family alone in our time of mourning.
I don't believe I have ever seen anything so hurtful in my life.

Shame on you all.

+1, the rumor mongers and gossipers in this thread suck, as a few of us have repeated here.

every single little thing on this page is untrue.
elaine was never abused and her husband was the nicest
and had the best personality. no one knows the family
like i do and i cant believe you guys are talking about
someone you completley do not know. you guys are immature.
think about how her husband and children feel, their
there mom and wife has just died. you all should be ashamed
and you all should mind your own buisness. its very sad
to see all this what if one of the children see's this?
think about it.

The best possible thing that you and all the friends and family can do about this thread is DO NOT RESPOND. Yes, the things said were unfair, and it's normal to want to defend people you feel are being wronged, but everytime you post, this thread goes back to the top of the list.

If you don't respond, it will drop off the first page and be forgotten after a couple days.

I am not trying to be disrespectable but I was just trying to find out what happened to Elaine, I had went to school with her for six years and I was just wondering. She had a wonderful looking family and my thoughts and prayers are with her family. I have been sick for the last few years and honestly I had thought she died from an illness, is that what happened?

Why don't you try contacting the family directly if you care so much?

I grew up with Elaine and her 2 brothers. A great family. I was also in an abusive situation (verbal) day and night. He ended up killing himself and left our family. It destroyed everyone. Elaine obviously was abused as I read all the wonderful things she did. I am so sorry she wasn't in her own home town where we could have helped her and definately would have. Verbal and physical abuse is so unnecessary and demeaning. My husband thought that was a good way to keep control of me. I am glad Elaine is in heaven where God can use her for something productive where she is finally happy. I am sure if her kids were turned against her by the father and his money that when they get older they will remember the kind sole that she was and some of her teachings will reflect in their every day life. I am truly sorry for the son that found her. I have experienced this and have had nightmares for 20 years. Hoping that the family can remember good times.

Oh, so now it's a fact that she killed herself because she was abused by her husband? You're glad she died and went to heaven (y'know, with all the other suicide victims)?

I didn't know Ms. Hoeler, but I can say with 100% certainty that she had bad taste in friends. You people are sick, and coming from me, that means you've reached a level of depravity that even I can't think of.

Let this poor woman rest in peace.

and yet mrmephisto you CAN NOT help yourself and have to respond to each of these posts. makes ME wonder what's up with your sickness. YOU claim to have NOT known her. then YOU HAVE ZERO RIGHT TO MAKE ANY COMMENTS ABOUT ANY OF THIS. you claim people here are making comments about things they no nothing about and yet you feel free to make comments about what they have said. HOW DO YOU KNOW THEY ARE NOT CORRECT. HOW DO YOU KNOW THEY ARE NOT CORRECT. YOU NEED TO LET IT BE AND STOP WITH ANY OF THE RESPONSES AND COMMENTS YOU FEEL SO FREE TO GIVE!

No, we will question the gossip and rumors as we please. It is our way, on our forum, of defending this woman's memory. If you don't like us coming to the defense of this woman in the face of these unfounded and unproven statements then go elsewhere. Here we are defending the memory of total strangers, and you spit on us and criticize us. We are the good guys, and the rest have a problem with us.

Sure I do. You put it in a public forum, and as a member of the public, I have every right to say whatever the fuck I want about it, just like you do.

> you claim

My comments are more along the lines of, "Please don't make a public announcement that she killed herself because her husband was abusive, especially if you don't know that for a fact."

You and the rest of her supposed friends are making comments like, "She killed herself because of an abusive husband, it's totally the truth."

I'm not saying it's true or false, I'm just saying it's fucked up, and I hope I never have any friends like you.

> HOW DO YOU

Well, it appears one of Elaine's offspring posted above and contradicted your statement.

Au contraire, Cindy. You need to keep your mouth shut if you don't know what the fuck you're talking about, and from what I've seen, all signs point to you shutting the fuck up.

Of all the dead people that get talked about on this site, I genuinely feel bad for Ms. Hoeler's family. She doesn't sound like some wannabe thug that got killed drunk driving, she sounds like a nice lady with shitty friends. That sucks for her family.

This is a time to pray for the family & friends of this dear lady, not investigate her family's driving records/arrest records. Some of you reprobates need to grow a heart and learn to pray. If you don't know how to pray for folks in extreme grief, just shut up. God will understand, he knows your are a fool.

I always wonder in these cases, what was going through the persons head when they died?

I usually speculate that it's a bullet, but some women are creative. Maybe it was a grenade fragment.

How do we discuss this off the internet? The internet is our central meeting place, and how we get our points across. It's more than just a global pornography distribution network.

She hanged herself in her room, and one of the triplets, Eric, walked in on her and found her there. It was extremely selfish of her to do, and her sons are dealing with it much better then i would have thought.
