Channel 4 nbc digital is not broadcasting?

This afternoon I noticed that digital channels 4.1,4.2, 4.3 were missing from one of two of our antenna TV's. I checked the other tv working off a different antenna and all missing there as well, so I know it isn't a problem with our TV's. Why?

Try 48.1 -- 4.1 is an alias. They are really using UHF 48

Most likely due to poor decisions post high school which prevent you from having access to a cable tv provider.

Contrary to popular belief, Cable TV is not a life requirement. When it was first introduced oh so many years ago, it was touted as commercial free television. Thousands signed up. Now, now only are there just as many commercials as on "free" TV, but you get the bonus of infomercials as well. And all those channels? Junk or the same movie over and over and over.
IMOH, you are a much smarter high school graduate if you do not have cable tv; you are probably more fit and can have better conversations too

I've noticed the same problem as well, and there's no explanation for it other than NBC4 has done something to their signal. It went out around 11 am yesterday. We can get every other channel perfectly on all TV's in the house, it's only channel 4 that has the problem. I even checked their website -- no mention of it at all.
Fooling around with our antenna and the antenna strength meter I've found that I can get a very weak signal at times, so there's SOMETHING there, but not enough to get anything other than a brief flash of a signal.

Update:
Out of curiosity I called NBC and they said they're aware of the problem and working on it. Said their transmitter failed and they're using a backup right now that is less powerful. They had no estimate for when it will be fixed.

I am experiencing the same problem with NBC 4 and also FOX 5 even though I am using two different antennas. I believe that they are constantly tinkering with the transmission power but I do notice these issues do not arise when a major broadcast event occurs, such as a political convention coverage, or a presidential speech.
WJLA and WUSA come in just fine.
If I get little to no reception on NBC4 and FOX5, then the other two remaining stations will do just fine.
Remember the companies who are paying for advertising on your networks, they will certainly be the ones to be pissed when viewers cannot see the ads being run on non receivable TV channels.

Channel 4 is back. All antenna broadcast receivers may resume ogling Amelia (Segal) Draper and Melissa Mollete (sp?).
