While the corporate tax rate is officially 35 percent, the average rate paid by large corporations is 12.6 percent. You can guess who is picking up the slack for them.

The GAO estimated that 24 percent of profitable large corporations owed no income tax in 2011,

So what. In the 1980s, the democrats decided that luxury item's destined for the rich, should and could be taxed at 50%. One of these items was luxury yachts. The result was that most of that industry ended up in Taiwan. When the last yacht manufacturer left for a more a reasonable place to do business, outside the US, congress realized the error of their ways. The job losses, and materials not purchased and the now non existent luxury yacht industry inside the US, diminished our tax income instead of the unfair windfall that short sighted politicians had counted on. So, they repealed the tax. End result, most of the industry decided not to come back. Democrats never learn. If the corporate tax rate was lowered to a more reasonable rate, more would stay here. More jobs, more tax income. More corporations wanting to be here, more income. Instead, the left is so hung up on the evil corporate culture, that they will punish them with high tax rates driving them out, and losing us jobs and tax revenue. The thing about fools with power, is that their foolish behavior adversely effects a lot more people then just themselves. Electing them and reelecting them expecting different results makes us fool's deserving the repetitive results that we should expect.
