Council Meeting
Posted by: Johnson ()
Date: August 16, 2016 10:05PM

City council meeting was very civil and productive. Date for special election
has been set for February 7th at which time a new mayor will be elected.
In the meantime, former council member Steve Stombres will serve in that position.
Great selection!

Well I didn't vote for him

Ditto. With an overwhelming presence, the City (as in its citizens) showed up and and showed what its made of - a well-spoken, intelligent, involved community. Bet the media won't cover that.

One thing should be noted: The Aabi Restaurant owner on Fairfax Blvd and Warwick. He has more to say to the citizens and it needs to be heard. Very important. This is a small "mom & pop" operation who is being bullied to get out of town. How many others have felt the heat? I wish an investigation would be conducted.

You don't vote for the mayor, the Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the finest crystal meth, thrust forth the Excalibur Dildo, thus proclaiming the Mayor.

Selecting Steve Stombres as interim Mayor clearly signals that the Silverthorne era is over. It is left to be seen whether the little "teams" of his supporters and minions will remain or leave.

I am going to have to try that. Good reviews, reasonable prices.

He sounds like a true American. Comes to this country to escape oppression from home land. The American story. He said he knows what corrupt government looks like, and we have it. Then he goes on to talk about the specifics of how he is being pushed out of business. But what he has to say is much longer than 3 minutes will allow. So, I think I will go try them out as well. I've been meaning to do that anyway. Their menu looks good. French Onion Soup, for one.

All civil and the townies came out to support this task the council had to take on. That was why they needed the extra week no doubt.
Problem is this: Steve Stombres was asked by Meth Mayor to take the job. So another cloud hangs over another head.

How do you "know" Scott ask Steve? Hmmm? You don't, do you? You're just guessing. Well, I'm guessing you're wrong.

Guessing is not helpful.

I thought the meeting went very well considering the circumstances. One citizen who has a reputation for running her mouth incessantly even kept it brief. I was shocked.

I agree, except I don't know who you're talking about and I don't really want to know. I'm sure any one of those who spoke could have carried on but allowed their best side to show, which I appreciate and frankly, admire. I was impressed.

That said, I still wanted someone to ask the city attorney how much money he made on the Loudoun real estate take and how, as the city attorney, he could justify allowing such a transaction without first having a formal appraisal of the land in order to establish the proper value. That's what I really wanted to talk about. Then there are all the other real estate transactions within the city for which I have questions. In due time. In due time.

Agree. Maybe the new interim mayor can help shed light. He was a councilman at the time.

Stombres is just as corrupt as the rest of them. He's a scumbag lobbyist who was on the council when the sale of the waterplant happened. He's just gonna protect his corrupt buddys on the council. They obviously inserted a guy who would keep the status quo.

I heard that too. Silverthorne has been advising at least two members of council, the city manager, and the city attorney. And that the short list had Stombres on it.

I call bullshit on AABEE owner. The bank is foreclosing on his property and auctioning it on Aug 26.

He said he was hit up with unnecessary fees and actually told by [someone] with the City or with the developer to move on. Watch the video of the meeting. I believe him. But then, I believed Scott too.

"I call bullshit on Aabee Owner" is a direct quote from City hall employees that work and support corruption and penetrated in this website! Your wishes City of Fairfax didn't come true since nobody can auction my restaurant. I don't think it has been born yet to do so. I as the owner of Aabee restaurant assure you that City of Fairfax is considered private club owned by few so called powerful people. But in time I will show who is powerful; people or corruption! That's all folks

Isn't the restaurant located in the Rt. 123 / Rt. 50 Northfax area?

Some of these owners are getting $ from city to do the transportation drainage project. Some of the businesses and property owners are getting the shaft. Fuddruckers almost got condemned but they brought in their attorneys to tell city council how much they could be sued for it, and they let that one go.

Lots of info on this website.

Stombres has meth pipes and peckers in his mouth. I think he was under Silverfags desk during the council meetings. They are all corrupt.

It takes a village. So glad I got the phone call from Jeff Greenfield and email from Dan Drummond to come to the meeting and support council during this trying time.
