But there's no reason for this thread unless someone has an update on the status of the suits Leiser filed against Fell.

The OP's post seems to suggest there's been some development.

But the Citizen Media Law Project site report on the cases - linked to in Johnny Walker's post - has not been updated since November 2008.

Ok, here's the update. I became interested in this when I read the first posting "Beware of this Law Firm". That was back in 06. I was interested because it involved a lawyer suing clients. Since recent postings, I thought I'd snoop around to see what I could learn and, for those who may be interested, this is what I found.

Leiser sued Fell six or seven times. Some suits were filed in Virginia Beach and some in Fairfax County circuit court. Fell was sued for defamation, abuse of process, conspiracy, interference with business. She was sued for making a complaint to the Virginia Bar, to the Fairfax consumer protection office, to the Virginia attorney general, for posting on this site and for posting a rating on the lawyerratingz web site. The total amount of these suits was around $2.6 million dollars. From what I read she was exercising her right to free speech and nothing looked defamatory in my view. Leiser even wrote letters to the circuit court judge and filed some sort of a motion asking for a fair trial. The court record on this is huge and absurd. Finally, seems that an agreement was signed and a few dollars was trown at Leiser to get rid of him and free Fell from continued legal harassment.

Before this suit, Leiser tried to get sanctions against Fell in another matter but he failed in circuit court. He appealed to the Virginia supreme court but they denied his appeal and then he asked for a rehearing and was once again denied. Fell appeared pro se.

In the Arlington courthouse I found four lawsuits filed against a man Leiser named as a witness against Fell. This man was sued for filing a Virginia Bar complaint against Leiser alleging that Leiser tried to pay him for testifying against Fell. THere were other allegations, as well. Also, Karen Leiser sued this man for defamation. Karen is Phillips wife and partner. Thomas Hennessy also sued him. Lawyerratingz posting was also addressed in these comnplaints.
It doesn't look like these lawsuits have been served. Why filed in Arlington? Guess to keep this hidden.

Leiser sued his past employee, a lawyer named August McCarthy. THis was filed in Fairfax but doesn't look like it was served.

So, that is the latest and hopefully the end for Fell. As for the others, I can only hope that it will end reasonably for them, as well.
