Adding a second deck to the driving range and putting in a new, bigger club house.

40 years ago, I played my first round of golf there ever. 30 years ago, I won the high school regionals there repping LBSS. 17 years ago I carded my first hole in one there. Next year, I was looking forward to playing my first round of golf with my son there. Perhaps I will...though it's a shame what they're doing to the place.

I'll be the first one to admit that the clubhouse has been in need of replacement for the last 10 years. The driving range, I liked just the way it was. Obviously, the changes to the range will enable more year-round use with protection from the elements which should lead to a increase in incremental revenues. All good news...

It's the aesthetic that is so disturbing. I understand the golf course and facilities were built in the 50's but, it's just a shame that they had to go with such a hyper, post-modern design for the new clubhouse. This is Burke Lake Golf Course...not St. Andrews.

Maybe Trump can spruce it up after ... And I'm praying ... He loses the election ... Or assinated within months of him in office ... Because he will need something to do! Fucking asshole he is! Still pissed he bought the old post office and making it into a conference center and hotel ... With rooms like 800 a nite. So you know the stuck up assholes staying there. Ok...getting off subject. Lol

I never said a damned word about Obama Or dems. I am independent....I want a QUALIFIED president and this election year there's not ONE. Don't know the hell I'm going to do. Oh and a side note...even of I had the money I wouldn't stay in one of his properties even if it were free.

Back in the early 80's, Riggo was hitting golf balls in the stall next to mine.

Is there really a demand for this expansion? I go there all the time on Saturdays and Sundays and I have never had to wait for a spot.

I feel the same way. I can understand the changes to the range itself, as it seems to be constantly at near capacity anytime it isn't scorching hot or freezing cold.

But the clubhouse doesn't have to look like an ultra-modernist Swedish apartment building. A nice classic-looking clubhouse (similar to Potomac Shores, but smaller and without the bells and whistles) would suit me just fine.

It depends on the time of day. I have been there on a weekend afternoon and all the stalls are taken. What's worse is when they have some sort of junior clinic taking up twenty stalls and forcing others to wait. You can't even bitch to management about not doing it during prime time because then you are the bastard who hates kids.

When I leave my exotic German ride, I expect to only look at the finest and most modern buildings.

Burke is where peasants live and golf, when I'm not at my country club I practice at Oak Marr driving range, it's full of peasants but its near my Oakton estate.

That is a fairly ugly design.
