I know full well what the term non-partisan means. Trump (or his speechwriter - the speechwriter for Jeff Sessions, a right wing nut) PRETENDED to reach out to different economic, demographic, and political groups. But he didn't really mean it, unless he embraces all of humanity - which he (well, the Republican party) clearly doesn't. Personally, I think Trump is far more liberal than his public persona. But he knows full well that that is unacceptable to the Republican base. Republicans are willing to swallow their pride and pretend to give a crap about women, gays, minorities, poor people, and (some) immigrants - if it helps draw in the undecided voters and elect Trump.
But that all goes out the window if (God forbid) Trump is elected. Then all we'll hear about is religious freedom (discrimination against against gays), strict constitutionalism (repeal abortion, guns for everyone), law and order (shoot first, especially if they're black or mentally impaired), America first (screw immigrants), etc.
This speech was about what I expected - incredibly cynical, especially for a guy who doesn't really believe what he was saying (or rather, reading).
