Not true at all. I have been on the board who is making the decision and we have chose Greenbelt but will announce after the election. We do not want to take away any steam from president elect Hillary Clinton. We feel that Maryland is a safer less crime ridden area compared to Virginia. Maryland also has better Government and infrastructure. Also, we prefer to be closer to the Intelligence community that is already situated in the area. Please do not spread this information yet. The rail line from Springfield to Quantico is owned by CSX, a company with a reputation of being unfriendly to passenger service. The line already hosts Amtrak's Florida trains (including Autotrain) and VRE's trains to and from Fredricksburg, so it is unlikely they would add another train for FBI traffic. A more likely scenario is that the FBI might take advantage of existing Amtrak and VRE service from Quantico to Franconia-Springfield and then run shuttle busses.

Now I have heard .. On Good authority, that the FBI wants to spread their locations around and not be in one place for extra security, and that's why they nixed Quantico.. "Too many Eggs in one basket". You know the drill. And They are taking enough room from the USMC there too. But I thought "Q" would be a good match for them. I say Greenbelt.

Traffic is bad all over DC MD AND VA and continues to get worse as more people move in.

The STC mall owners have major pull.
