Auto paint in NOVA- doesn't have to be FFx Co.

So- I want to paint/patch a few small rust spots on my car better than the fly by night vans you see running around here offering dent repair on the spot but not as expensive as those larger pro body shops that leave your car looking showroom new. I only want it shiny black again, not worried too much about the dents, not too complicated.

Is Maaco still the best for this (do they still run those $350 whole car specials they did in the 90's), or am I better off with my friends at vatozone getting my own bondo and spraypaint and spending a weekend myself? Thx.

"Scheib(e)" means "vagina" in German.

Hey, Earl Scheib is still around?? "I'll paint any car, any color, $19.99".

You had to read the fine print though. It was more if they had to mask it.

There are locations that are independently owned, and are allowed to use the Earl Scheib name on their businesses.

This was an agreement worked out after the company went out in 2011

So yes there are still Earl Scheibs' out there painting cars any color for a set price.

Maybe OP can get one of those vinyl car transfers with a FiOS ad on it! Wouldn't that be pathetic...

Found out Earl's is closed- gonna try the post linked above for QAB on draper.

Maaco quoted me about $450, FYI but that was JUST the paint (I have already sanded the worse of the rust off, and decided to order 2 wheel well panels vs trying to redo the existing ones, they were cheap like $100 each online).

I will compare with other shops, but I am leaning towards Maaco since they are a national company with a national warranty and have been around, but I will give local shops a chance too.

Some of the High Schools in the area have a body shop program. I have a buddy that had the rust in his old Ramcharger fixed out in Prince William Co.

Not sure how much they charged, but it was less than 1K for the ton of rust they cut out, and replaced with new steel.

If you're going to go to Maaco, then go to Maaco Chantilly. Best customer service I've experienced and their reviews say it for themselves.

Another vote for QAB on Draper!

5 years ago, I did a rotisserie restoration of my Torino and QAB did the body and paint work. Not the cheapest...just the best.

Try these folks. I used him for some clear coat damage and he did an outstanding job. Did the repair at my house. It's worth a try...

Hello everyone, I repainted my car, and after a while I noticed rust on some parts of the car body. Tell me why is this happening?

Hi, you will not be able to present anything to the seller, since you agreed to buy the car in this condition. So now this is your problem. I can recommend you to completely repaint the car, but before that do a Rust Repair. After that, prime and paint the car again. Also remember to use a rust preventer.
