The Pew Research poll is 'self reporting' meaning they asked people to self id as food stamp recipients - not many Repugs gonna be honest about that eh? Also the 'poll' multiplies the number or recipients by having the self-reporters offer hearsay about others in the household (multiplying the amount of dems by 3x). Even if they are self-reporting accurately a mom saying her 2 kids also receive assistance does not triple the number of democrats or households receiving SNAP assistance. Its a bogus survey

SNAP is not based on race. It is based on income and size of household.
Basically, it assures that 30% of the income of a poor household plus their SNAP benefits will be enough to cover the Thrifty Food Plan for a family of four adjusted (up or down) to the actual size and dietary needs of that household.
