The Springfield Country Club fireworks will be Wednesday, July 6th at dark. As is our tradition, any citizens who are not members of the club in good standing who are adjudged to be "staring into the night sky above the club for purposes of viewing the club's fireworks" will receive a summons for disturbing the peace and or have your car towed and impounded.

How stupid is this? What? Will there be cars parked in the Giant parking lot and police patrolling to arrest who's "staring into the night sky ...?"

Yes, SCC is FCPD's largest sponsor and we have been for nearly 40 years. We didn't used to have tickets written and cars towed but ever since about 1994, as the brown, savage, illegal mud-people have moved into the area, it just really detracted from our previous whites only policy. The good news is, in the ensuing 20 years, the course has never looked and played better. Those savages can grow and cut some grass...

I asked this AM on SCC FB page: Are the fireworks on for tonight?
The official reply which you can read there yourself was: "Springfield Country Club We will not have any fireworks this year. However our restaurant Tavola will have a fireworks display on the 14th for their anniversary party. Reservations are recommended by calling 610-543-2100. Have a happy and safe holiday!"
When I got the reply I was already parked in my favorite watching spot across OKM from SCC. I don't think I have to explain what their reply says about their feelings toward us non-member peons!

Connonmn, you went to the wrong Springfield CC page.
The members of Springfield CC in Springfield, VA pay for the fireworks as part of their dues. They are held on private property so why would anyone expect them to invite non-members onto their property for the event? You can watch for free in many places around the club just not on their property. Maintaining a golf course is expensive - you can't just allow the general public to trample over it with coolers, lawn chairs and fireworks just to be good neighbors.

The Springfield Country Club is a real shithole. I don't know why anyone would pay the $600 initiation fee to join that waste of land. There are more brown spots on the greens than Krusty's clown boxers.
