Elizabeth Schultz, school board member, is actually saying that this policy could punish kids for posting things that are critical of transgenderism on websites such as this. These people need to be SUED now for their violation of the 1st amendment

Yep, here we go. It's all coming crashing down now. Won't be long and no one will send their kids to Fairfax County Punlic Schools. How about we homeschool now. This is terrible and hidden. Why? Mcelveen? Why hide and sneak?

How can a School System believe that is it moral or even Constitutional to coerce students, under the threat of pentaly should they refuse, to sign (pledge) their "support" (acceptance of or agreement with). "transgender rights" when many of these students:

1. Don't know what these rights entail
2. May not agree with or may have objections to the lifestyle of "Transgenders".
3. Are not in a position to make such decisions based on # 1 and or 2 above and are still minors and not experienced persons (adults) and thus cannot make a fully informed decision on what they believe to be correct, normal or natural or whether or not the Consitution protects special groups of people OVER individual rights, or affords Group Rights in general above Individual Rights, etc. etc. as it pertains to such an abstract subject.

Furthermore the threat of expulsion for students who verbally disagree or criticize Transgender Ideology ("the new policy could lead to expulsions as a result of online or other speech criticizing the transgender ideology.")
Is NOT only outrageous, but is an UNCONSTITUTIONAL rule as it clearly violate FREE SPEECH as outlined in the 1st amendment of the US Constitution.

Quoting the linked article:
On June 9, the Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) school board voted 10-2 to force Fairfax County Public Schools students to sign a document declaring their support for "transgender rights." However, the totalitarian new policy may go even further than that, as a sitting school board member (Elizabeth Schultz of Springfield) has publicly stated that the new policy could lead to expulsions as a result of online or other speech criticizing the transgender ideology.

I neither know nor care about what she/he is packing under the Dress Barn tent she/he is wearing. But from now on, I know what I will be packing under my clothes and within fast reach in case needed. It will have a magazine with enough stored firepower to take out anyone(s) who attack me or mine. I really do not care what sex they think they are or what stall they want to use. My only question will be: Are they there to attack me and mine, or are they there to use the facility in the normally accepted manner? If the former, 'twill be their last attack on anyone.

This is not a 1st Amendment issue, it is a human rights issue. All people are to be respected, and the Transgender students have rights. Failure to comply has a penalty.

You know Mrs. Schultz is the voice of reason and one of the only sane representatives on the Board. You'd do better if you followed her lead.

Mind your mouth or I will pop it good next time I see you.

maybe, but doesn’t there have to be a valid discriminable quality before it can be discriminated against? I don’t believe a person’s issues with their own identity qualifies.

For God's sake, transgendered people have no desire to attack 'you and yours'. And the bogeymen you are convinced are hiding in every stall don't exist. Im a lot more afraid of paranoid nutters like you than I am of any transgendered person or the nonexistent men pretending to be women. You are the poster boy for gun control.

So, as you can see, this is not about transgender people using a bathroom freely. It is about rapists and sex criminals now free to access women's bathrooms under pretense of being transgender, then doing their criminal exploits. Now don't come back and say they don't try to hurt or harm LGBT etc. the number of women hiking together on the Appalachian trail that have been murdered may wake you up to the harsh realities. If they want to accommodate everyone, build unisex bathrooms with a locking door and allow people to choose which one they want to use.

Our county is so messed up. This is not what we are supposed to be addressing in our schools.
This is agenda driven is should not be in the education system at all.

All people have rights .. but the penalties are going towards barring free speech and yes I can tell you I not approve of your life style -- that is not hateful .. that is my opinion.

Strange that no one has mentioned that transgenderism:

1) Isn't genetic, as two large recent studies attest.
2) Isn't identifiable by a test.
3) Is a diagnosable illness.

Also, it's strange the school board feels only transgenders have rights.

Mental health professionals need to weigh in for these people along with social services. The end. Let teachers teach their subject matter.

With the new tranny policy for the military, will it still be a crime to impersonate an officer if someone self identifies as an officer? Why will liberals enable only certain mental illness base delusions or will they enable all of them?

And forcing this on chidlren is a crime, though I blame my fellow conservatives and libertarians for allowing liberals to be in positions of power and around children in the first place

You are truly a Jack ass. I do not agree with making a student sign this document whatsoever. But just because someone is transgender or gay or whatever does not make them a threat so severe you need a fucking gun ... Unless you are packing very little and need to compensate for it, cuz I know your shit for brains.

Why do you whack jobs think women or girls won't be safe in bathrooms? What is stopping a rapist or predator from walking in any bathroom they want right now? Letting transgender people pee has nothing to do with stopping sexual violence. If a bad guy wants to attack, he isn't going to stop because of the symbol on the door.

Well, honey, prior to all this PC nonsense, we could grab a man walking into the girls' bathroom and "redirect" him. Now, we have to look the other way.

We need to be respected for our genital confusion.

I have a penis, but I wish I had a vagina. Why should I have to urinate in the men's room, when I'd rather sit down and urinate like a girl?

Of course, I can't ACTUALLY do that, not that I haven't tried, but it's hard to bend your penis down, and you end up pissing all over your legs. But, I CAN stand in the girl's room and urinate into the toilet. I wouldn't do it in the sink, like some transgenderphobics have suggested.

Some people think, WTF, you have a dick, piss in the boy's room. Do they understand how embarrassing that is?

Some people say, cut your dick off and become a girl.

Here's the problem. I'm not attracted to men, not at all. So, if I cut my dick off and become a girl, I'd be gay, and then I'd have to deal with all the homophobia.

I can't win.

Society needs to allow me to be me.

There is no unisex bathroom in my school, you racist degenerate.

Anyway, why should I be called "unisex"? What the fuck does that mean, anyway?

I'm not a unisex. That's the freak in my mother's Mayo Clinic Medical book.

I'm like you, with feelings and desires.

I just don't like my penis. It's ugly. Just like you, you caucasian hillbilly.

According to the school board, any student who requests will be provided private bathrooms and changing facilities.

Since bathrooms and lockers are now multisex at FCPS, those of us who don't want our kids publicly changing or using the bathroom publicly with the opposite sex, have to ask for private accommodation.

Strange, since the transgender student in VA who sued the school board, the judge ruled that providing a private accommodation for that student wasn't sufficient. But somehow FCPS seems to think what is not OK for the transgender student, is OK for the rest of us.

I recommend everyone start putting in requests with their school (principal, counselor and gym teacher) to let their student use a private bathroom and changing areas.

Make sure you put your requests in writing. If they do not answer then follow up.

If you do not like what they do complain to the school board and school administration. Also threaten to take your kid out of gym class or the school altogether. Become a regular visitor to the principal's office and so on. Do not make their life the least bit easy.

Your advice was to kill myself. Thanks but no. I've got alot of stuff I want to do and why do you say mankind, FrankR? Why? Its because YOU ARE a republican. Right? A big fat republican who's in love with his penis.

Women should watch out when you're around, FrankR. I'm no threat to women. I might be sexually attracted to women, but I would never use my penis against them. Like I already sad I don't like my penis. I only demand that I urinate in the same bathroom with them.

So maybe its a good idea to stop the hate speech against me, FrankR.

In other words, harrass the crap out of people who are just trying to do their jobs. You can complain to the (**ahem** - elected) school board all you want, but they're the ones who voted in favor of transgender accommodations. And by all means use your kids as a pawn in your political machinations. That's sure to bring you closer together. When you are done throwing your temper tantrums and humiliating your children, perhaps you'll take a step back and realize the damage you've caused to your family and to your community with your paranoia.

Make sure your requests are in writing, and make it known to the school board that it is not OK for your child to view or be viewed undressed by the opposite sex. They seem to think parents don't have an issue with that.

As it stands, our children may have been violated for up to a year now, without parental notification that the new policy was being enacted.

And it does harm children who do not want their bodies exposed and viewed by the opposite sex. It harms parental rights to not have their kids see kids (or teachers) of the opposite sex nude.

It's time to make our voices loud, and clear, that this was wrong to enact without us knowing, in violation of our students and parents rights.

It is especially wrong to have forced our students into a mixed sex environment in lockers, showers, and bathrooms for the past year, in violation of their most closely held and personal rights to their own bodies, faith, and cultural practices.

Yes harass the crap out of them as that's about all they understand. When principals start complaining to Garza and McElveen about having to deal with angry parents all day, maybe things will change. McElveen is very selective about who he meets with, doubtful he does much more than scan emails. Garza's office has made it VERY CLEAR how busy she is. Fine, let them hear about the problem they created from their subordinates.

Frank, my wife has said the same thing. I will work this weekend on a website, and form templates to automatically send to the school board. Will also work on a strategy (petition?) to go forward with, as the current situation is not acceptable. I have written a draft already, will proof and try to finalize soon also. My wife has also went to other forms of social media, and is getting a lot of outrage from parents who didn't know the policy now exists, and they all plan to submit requests for accommodations for bathrooms and lockers. That is not a permanent solution, as we are now the ones being discriminated against.

While your efforts are applauded, it is unlikely the school board will listen.

What MUST happen is for the meals tax to be soundly defeated and for people to continue to press the board of supervisors to reduce school spending. Without the nearly unlimited money FCPS seems to think they have they will readjust their priorities away from transgender issues, marching band trips, turf fields, and horse trainers and start to think about test scores.

Please provide evidence that a transgender policy is in place in Fairfax County schools. Please provide evidence that children are being 'violated' and have been 'forced' into a 'mixed sex environment in lockers, showers, and bathrooms'. When have kids seen 'kids (or teachers!) of the opposite sex nude'. Hearsay doesn't count.

Also, you state that 'According to the school board, any student who requests will be provided private bathrooms and changing facilities.'. Please provide a transcript or other evidence in writing that this statement is true.

Unless you can provide evidence that these things are happening, then everything you have said is pure conjecture motivated by fear. Reasonable people can develop reasonable solutions to address everyone's concerns. Harassing the school board and the school system in an attempt to force your viewpoint will only antagonize everyone and will make things worse.

In other words, you have nothing. I simply asked for evidence that the inflammatory statements in question have some basis in fact. It is incumbent upon the person making a claim to support it - not me to disprove it.

At least some people here can express their viewpoint without resorting to calling people 'worthless fucks', 'transgendered freaks', and so forth. Plus, of course, you encourage everyone you disagree with to kill themselves. Classy, Frank.

Unfounded fears, they state it on their website, under the FAQ for policy 1450.

The information that they provide private use facilities for anyone who for whatever reason can't use the public lockers and bathrooms which are multisex, comes directly from the school board (Pat Hynes).

Their current policy, on the policy 1450 portion of their website says they are already vetting transgender students, and if everything checks out, they allow access.

It is all available to see.

MAKE NO MISTAKE-this is just the beginning of the idiocy. They need to be starved of money to carry out foolishness like this.

Defeating the meals tax sends a clear signal to the board of supervisors that FCPS is way out of line.

Liberals claim to be progressive, but when I offer real solutions to real problems you can't handle it. The world has much larger problems then caring about the feelings of some small fraction of the population who are total nut jobs. Let's make real progress for once as a species. Stop the PC bullshit and trying to make sure everyone's feelings don't get hurt.

By the way, you'd have to seriously not be paying attention to know that the OP's claims are true.

I've read the FAQ for policy 1450 on the FCPS website and do not see any reference to unfounded fears - although I'm not sure what the relevance is.

I spent about half an hour on Google trying to find a reference to Pat Hynes and bathrooms/other facilities and couldn't find anything at all specific; nothing with respect to providing accommodations for anyone who wants them. Could you please provide a link to a site that verifies what you are saying.

> Their current policy, on the policy 1450 portion

I don't see that. This is the only reference on the FCPS website that I found pertaining to implementation of 1450:

No decisions have yet been made regarding accommodations that will be provided, under the revised policy. Our next step will be to hire a consultant to assist in developing appropriate regulations that protect the rights of all students and comply with state and federal law.

> It is all available to see.

Perhaps, but I sure can't find it.

Really. What 'real solutions' have you offered, Frank? Recommendations to posters kill themselves do not count.

There you go again, Frank. References to 'total nut jobs' do not advance the discussion. I see nut jobs all right, but they aren't transgendered.

Oh great. Then kids go hungry. What does that have to do with transgenders using the bathroom that fits their preferred sex organ anyway? Staving kids isn't going to make me go away.

I'm here, I'm not queer, but I have every right to pee in the girls room. This is America right? 4th of July, remember what the day means. Freedom and Equality, in case you forgot.

dear boy, your preferences, opinions, thoughts about your privates or someone else’s privates are not a basis nor justifiable reasons for changing our society. Just because you don’t like our society doesn’t mean you get to change it. Just because you choose not to believe God created man and woman and charged them with procreating, doesn’t mean our society has to accept your belief and accommodate your beliefs. Either you conform, or you must die or hide. One or the other.

Some people here are really, really stupid (Hillary supporters?).

The idea is not to starve children of food, but to starve the irresponsible management of FCPS of money so that it cannot pursue ridiculous things like entire aisles of different gendered bathrooms.

Other sources of waste, such as marching bands, turf fields, mindfulness workshops, equestrian demonstrations, unqualified administrators and the never ending flow of cash to Sea Pearl and Ted's Bulletin can be deferred for now.

Happy 4th of July.

You think people who complain about excessive spending of tax money should be driven out of their homes and flogged? How about making them register as dissidents and having them wear a distinctive badge as well? Oh, sorry, almost forgot, what about a tattoo?

Now, please go back to your Hillary Clinton fantasy.

My neighbors are all in agreement that the FCPS trans-freak policies have gone too far. We will all be following through on making it abundantly clear to the board that this will not stand. Please join us by doing your part to pester them to death. We must draw the line here folks, or things will only continue to get much worse and bizzar. Thank you.

I'm the idiot? I'm not the one saying SAY NO TO THE MEALS TAX, YOU ARE! Kids need food, without it they can't do well in school. Your basically saying, because we're mad that transsexuals are breathing in our schools, we'll starve the kids to get back. This is hateful and you should be fined or your name should be listed in the news as a hater of children. I'm in a complete state right now. Thanks for ruining my weekend with your hate.

The meals tax does not pay for FCPS school lunches!!! There already is a program for kids who cannot afford food!!! This tax is on restauraunts all across Fairfax County to pay for more wasteful spending. FCPS has had a free/reduced lunch program for decades WITHOUT a meals tax.

That program isn't even the stated objective of the meals tax! Look it up!

If/when you create a website/petition, please post it on this thread and I will link to it on my website counterrev16.blogspot.com

I already have a petition about the 1st amendment issues with this policy but it also would be helpful to create one demanding to repeal the policy entirely. Although that probably won't happen, it would generate media attention to convince neighboring school districts not to make the mistake FCPS did.

Here's my petition link: https://www.change.org/p/fairfax-county-school-board-protect-free-speech-in-fairfax-county-public-schools

Snitching on neighbors, turning in non-conformists who dare to oppose the great party leaders.

Actually, Elizabeth Schultz is the only school board member opposed to this policy and who has resisted the groupthink of FCPS -- the measure passed 10-2.

C. Any alternative arrangement shall, to the extent possible, be provided in a way
that does not call attention to the student’s gender non-conforming or
transgender status.

D. Any alternative arrangement should be provided in a way that protects the ability
of students to keep their gender non-conforming or transgender status
confidential.

This doesn't make any sense at all. How confidential is this going to be when person with a penis walks into the ladies room, or a person without a penis walks into the men's room, and they don't get kicked out of school, and keep on doing it with the blessing of the school system?

Why do these kids think they can do this stuff without calling attention to their confusion, and think this can be confidential?

This is bullshit...

Which bathroom will the students who identify as both male and female use? Can they float between the two?

A Fairfax County student:

"No one's entitled to take away my rights based on who I am," said Charlie Cranford Teague, 16, who identifies as a girl and a boy. "I am not confused. I am not going through a phase."

The meals tax is a NEW tax. Fairfax County has had a free and reduced lunch program for decades without this NEW tax. No one is proposing cutting ALL of FCPS funding, just limiting their NEW funding so they cannot spend on transgenderism -- and if they want to cut legitimate school programs to overhaul the bathrooms, then they will suffer at the ballot box.

P.S. - the only food the meals tax will pay for is pork for the school board and their donors.

Actually, it sounds like she is disagreeing with the policy, and warning that the policy will punish kids who disagree.

That's what black males and gays do. Apparently, after so much anal sex, they lose control of the sphincter muscle and suffer from faecal incontinence.

I once represented a Black dude named the "Shitty Bandit" by the Fairfax Police.

It seemed that after this Black guy would burgle a residence, he had to defecate on a chair, or couch or something.

I really don't understand Black people. I hope that after a few more generations, those nasty, disgusting, African-based genes are gone. Then maybe America will be better.

Until then, I will not tolerate this Black Lives Matter bullshit. I will shout at them in their face.

When they came to Fairfax Courthouse yesterday, I saw several get arrested. It was awesome.

Schultz says the school district — which is one of the largest in the country, with 187,000 students — “punishes students all the time for what they say on social media, even outside of the school year. Without a doubt, students will be punished for saying negative things on Facebook and Twitter about transgenderism.”
********************************

This can't be true. How the hell can a school punish a kid for exercising First Amendment rights, and how can the school claim any jurisdiction during the summer?

Unless the kid is making the posts at school or making bomb threats or some other egregious statements, the school has no grounds to restrict free speech, and certainly not in the summer.
