FHS Adult Student Arrested in School Criminal Use of Phone In Bathroom
Posted by: y3364 ()

We want to let you know that the City of Fairfax Police moments ago released a report about one of our students. The student used a cell phone inappropriately in one of our bathrooms and is now facing criminal charges. For more specific information about this incident, you can go to the City of Fairfax Police Department’s Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/CityOfFairfaxPoliceDepartment) or Twitter (@fairfaxcitypd) page.

We learned about this incident when a student reported it to staff yesterday morning. Our security and administrative teams responded immediately and their outstanding investigative work confirmed the student’s report. As the incident involved a violation of the law as well as school rules, we notified the police. While we do not generally discuss individual students or their decision making, the violating student is of adult age and the police department reports crimes committed by adults.

Sometimes, our young men and women make decisions that have significant impact on themselves and others. This situation reinforces our appreciation of the partnership between our school and the police, and the work that our security and administrative teams do every day to maintain a safe and secure school.

You can get older students still in HS for a couple of reasons.. One could be special ed, the other is students who come over to our country from overseas from a place where their schooling background is different/not the same timeline

I have a 19 year old student from China right now. Have had a 20 year old from Thailand in the past.

NOBODY should be allowed to be 20 years old and still be a HS student for ANY reason. WTF? Anyone still in HS on the day he/she turns 19 should be shoved out the door.

That’s right. Otherwise, it’s adult education. The rules and regulations in high school are designed for minors under adult supervision. It is inappropriate to have adults within a student body. Perhaps even illegal. Unless the student truly is mentally younger as in Downes Syndrome.

Is the student transgender? If so, he/she/it gets a free pass. Charges will be dropped once the LGBT crowd gets involved.

Such a great example of today's younger generation living thru apps. Most of these app/phone addicted losers should be executed before they cause some real problems.

A kid with a late fall birthday will miss the cut off date to start kindergarten. That means they don't start K until they are nearly 6 and they won't start their senior year of HS until they are nearly 19. They will turn 19 during their senior year. I've got a kid in this situation - very good student but will graduate when he's 19. I've also got one with a late spring/early summer birthday who will have barely turned 18 when he graduates. 17/18/19 are typical ages for a senior in HS.

But 20 is old to still be in HS.

Actually scratch that. A late fall birthday will still be 18 at graduation.

At one point I had considered holding my late spring kid back a year before starting him in K. But I opted not to when I realized that he would turn 19 right before he graduated. As it is he will be 17 throughout his senior year and turn 18 right before he graduates.

I was deathly ill in 1st grade because of that I had to repeat. I still graduated before I turned 19. A 20 year old in high school? Yea. That's too old. They have programs for older people. They aren't children and shouldn't be treated as such.

This is so disturbing. And those poor kids that he took pictures of - I feel so bad for them.

Sorry, it's ridiculous that this 20 year old man was in the same school and in the same classes as those kids. He should have been in adult education. I look back at what I was doing when I was 20 and I would have *hated* being in HS with a bunch of teenagers.

Title le 1 schools are on the free breakfast and free lunch program.. When I say free breakfast, I'm not talking a glass of milk and a roll -- but a full breakfast and cereal bar with fruits and juices that would make the Marriott proud. The waste of this food is monumental, with trays and trays of it being dumped in the trash uneaten. (OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK!)

I estimate that well over 50% of these students are obese or at least moderately overweight. About 75% or more DO have cell phones. The school also provides day care centers for the unwed teenage pregnant girls (some as young as 13) so they can attend class without the inconvenience of having to arrange for babysitters or having family watch their kids.

(MORE OF OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK!)

I was ordered to spend $700,000 on my department or risk losing funding for the upcoming year even though there was little need for anything; my budget was already substantial. I ended up buying new computers for the computer learning center, half of which, one month later, have been carved with graffiti by the appreciative students who obviously feel humbled and grateful to have a free education in America. (MORE AND MORE OF OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK!)

I have had to intervene several times for young substitute teachers whose classes consist of many illegal immigrant students here in the country less than 3 months who raised so much hell with the female teachers, calling them putas (whores ) and throwing things, that the teachers were in tears.

Free medical, free education, free food, free day care, etc., etc., etc. Is it any wonder they feel entitled not only to be in this country but to demand rights, privileges and entitlements?

To those who want to point out how much these illegal immigrants contribute to our society because they LIKE their gardener and housekeeper and they like to pay less for tomatoes: spend some time in the real world of illegal immigration and see the TRUE costs.

Higher insurance, medical facilities closing, higher medical costs, more crime, lower standards of education in our schools, overcrowding, new diseases etc., etc., etc.

For me, I'll pay more for tomatoes.

Americans, We need to wake up. The guest worker program will be a disaster because we won't have the guts to enforce it. Does anyone in their right mind really think they will voluntarily leave and return?

It does, however, have everything to do with culture: A third-world culture that does not value education that accepts children getting pregnant and dropping out of school by 15, and that refuses to assimilate, and an American culture that has become so weak and worried about "political correctness" that we don't have the will to do anything about it.

If this makes your blood boil, as it did mine, forward this to everyone you know including your Congressman and Senators.

There are some kids who have temporary or chronic illnesses which delay graduation. And the school system requires you to repeat the entire school year, even if you've only missed a month or two at the end. Don't be so judgemental of people, especially if you don't know their circumstances.

We know this Adult, who's also an immigrant, did something illegal with his phone while in a highschool bathroom. We also know that whatever he did warranted criminal charges, and we know, from his Facebook appolgy that he's both stupid and guilty. In other words, fuck him, and fuck you and your "circumstances".

That comment was in reference to the many comments stating that no one 20 or older should still be in high school - not to this particular person. I thought that was obvious. Apparently not to some.

How long can that go on though? You could wind up with 30 year old "kids" running the hallways and playing on sports teams...going to prom.

At some point they just flunk out and move on to adult ed if they want to get their GED. I guess I don't know if there is a cut off age for public schooling because it seems that there must be.

I was born in early October and I was halfway through my first semester of college when I turned 18. If your "child" (really, adult) is still in high school when he/she is 20, you (he/she) need(s) to make some arrangement that doesn't involve a 20 year old hanging around a High School. Any young adult who is still in high school the day he/she turns 19 should be booted out the door THAT DAY. The .01% f young adults this policy would affect can make other arrangements.
