An ex bought house next door

What is the quickest way to find who bought a house while under contract? I came home from the hospital this morning to see a car with vanity plates I recall from my youth parked in front of my house , but for the house next door that is under contract. I plan on asking my neighbors, but I don't expect them to know the names. I recall the make of the car, black boxter, and what the plates say, but not what they were, i.e. Dg lvr, is dog lover. So, I think I would be forever on a plate search. This would be the one X that 30 years later I don't want living next door, I might have to the cardiac unit with my husband. I am assuming, it is just a fluke, but it was a particular hobby vanity plate.
