Sobriety Checkpoint in Reston Fri May 27 11pm-2am

Drive carefully this holiday weekend.

Fairfax County Police will be holding a sobriety checkpoint in the Reston District between Friday at 11 p.m. and Saturday at 2 a.m.

FCPD regularly holds checkpoints in various parts of the county in order to monitor for intoxicated drivers. They do not announce the location ahead of time.
The last Reston checkpoint took place in late April at Walnut Branch Road and the Fairfax County Parkway.

Police said 623 vehicles passed through that screening point, resulting in one DWI arrest, one criminal charge, and three traffic summonses.

How much spent on overtime for a stunt that gets no drunks off the street. I'd rather see that highway funding go for sound walls along the Parkway or something.

It appears they have the DWI checkpoint in the same place. Fairfax County Parkway and Walnut Branch Road. All the apps are showing it.

Sobriety Checkpoint: 05/27/16 in Reston District this past weekend resulted in 539 cars screened, two arrests for DWI, and four other traffic violations. Thank you for your safe driving and cooperation.

It was 537 cases of harassment and 2 cases of DUI.

That makes the check point .0037105 percent effective.
