Cheap Lawyer, not necessarily the best Lawyer

There are a number of threads on FXUG about attorney recommendations. Usually the request is to find a good lawyer. However, I have a ticket for Reckless (not speeding) that I feel will likely be knocked down when I go to court. However, I also feel that I will be found guilty of a lesser charge and so I really don’t have a chance to walk away Scot-free.

I also feel that the chances of getting this knocked down will increase if I have a lawyer next to me.

So … where’s the cheapest place to find a lawyer who will stand next to me in traffic court?

Any recommendations?

Didn't you listen to the Police when you were arrested. "You have the right to speak to an Attorney , if you can't afford one one will be appointed for". Wake up and smell the coffee. Get a free lawyer at the courthouse.

Make an appointment with David Trinnes. Walk in with your fly unzipped. Maybe you can negotiate some alternate form of compensation.

If you are too cheap to hire an attorney to properly represent you in traffic court, save your money and represent yourself. If you don't like the outcome you can appeal the case to circuit court and then hire a decent attorney to properly handle your case.

Just showing up in court in this area with a lawyer isn't likely to influence the disposition of your case. There are thousands of lawyers in this area, most of whom don't know jack about representing defendants in criminal or traffic cases. What influences the disposition of cases is having an attorney who is actually prepared to represent you, or who the judge or assistant commonwealth attorney believes is actually prepared to represent you based on prior dealings.
