When I was a kid many years ago, I royally pissed off a FCPD detective in an unmarked car. He stopped me and gave me a ticket. Before he let me go, he told me that he hadn't pulled a car over for a traffic offense in over 10 years! LOL

I once was heading south on Shirley Hwy near Shirlington when some asshole blows by me like I'm standing still.

Car was a blacked out (windows, etc.). I figured the three or four guys in the car were Secret Service or something.

Pissed me off so I down-shifted my 700 cc NightHawk S and got right up on their ass in a blink of an eye.

Must have pissed THEM off because they turn on the blue lights thinking I would back off...wrong !

Figured they had no jurisdiction so I swung around them , gave them the finger and blew them off.

They never caught up.

Felt great.

Those were the days.

The Sheriff and his/her Deputies have original law-enforcement duties in the Commonwealth of Virginia for each of the respective jurisdictions. And there's a little overlap.

The law of Virginia allows for the establishment of local police departments/constabularies.

Anyway, if you don't want a ticket, don't break the law.

Yes they can issue a ticket anywhere in the state of Virginia. I wrote a few coming back from a prisoner transfer. It was cool to write one in a far away county because you often got to go appear in court that day. It would suck when the ticket got pre-paid and messed up my little road trip.
