Accidental self inflicted wounds rates would be insane.

How about vending machines at each station that sell a selection of firearms, and personal protection items.

These are mock ups of what metro proposes for their bus service in the near future. Besides heavily armed drivers, Metro will add an extra crew member and will also fortify and refit their buses for the Urban combat that commonly takes place in the DC metro area.

Aren't most metro employees felons? Or is that just the managers? Can felons carry guns?

Yes, many are convicted felons. But under the new Federal "ban the box" law employers are prevented from asking about a person's criminal past.

Not a word about arming operators, just asking for a greater police presence.
DC should have a "shall issue" CCW law like Virginia's and let metro employees
and passengers arm themselves.
