Skyline Drive Fire is Mostly Out Now, Smokey Smell Should Stop

The rain is falling, Rocky Mtn Fire 2016 is mostly in the mop up and landscape repair and rehabilitation stage. It’s time for the Southern Area Red Incident Management Team to acknowledge just some of the outstanding work accomplished by individuals who have pulled together to bring the incident to a successful outcome.

Incident Commander (IC) Mike Dueitt and IC Trainee Steve Parrish handed out Red Team Challenge Coins this morning, as showers moved the morning briefing inside the equipment bay at the Grottoes Volunteer Fire Department.

Those who received special recognition were Rick Barrett, Logistics Section Chief who facilitated accommodations for up to 350 personnel who came into the area from 33 states and Puerto Rico; Gemaa Pelch, Procurement Unit Leader, who orders and tracks equipment for the incident; Jean Frick, Time Unit Leader who tracks every single hour put in by incident personnel (who was too busy to leave her desk and receive her coin); Rockingham County Fire Chief Jeremy Holloway who opened the doors of his volunteer fire department in Grottoes to the Incident Management Team and helped keep it warm, dry and well cared for under stressful and challenging conditions; and Zuni Hot Shots Firefighter Geraldine Chico, who performed with textbook professionalism and skill during the extraction of the only firefighter injured on the incident.

Jesus, "Challenge coins" ?

Why is it that firefighters all have to jerk each other off with awards and stupid shit? You get paid or agree to volunteer so go do your fucking job and be a fucking man about it.
