Mother's day suggestions

Anyone have any good suggestions of places for mothers day brunch? I need to make reservations somewhere. I have done Clyde's and the tower club in past years so looking for something new.

Or if anyone has a suggestion of something to do besides the obvious brunch...lay it on me.

I quit taking my Mom to do the brunch thing because it is so crowded, noisy, expensive and the meal was usually mediocre at best because they are always prepared in a hurry.

Recently what I did was just go buy a box of KFC and take her out to a park for a picnic. We had a great time and because there wasn't anyone else around and we didn't have to yell over a din of noise. For the first time in years we actually got a chance to really talk to one another.

We spent a few hours together and neither of us were in any kind of a hurry to leave until the sun started going down and it got cold. I could tell she was really enjoying herself.

If you have kids perhaps you could pickup a volley ball net, lawn darts, or something to keep them entertained as well. But it was the quiet solitude of being in an open natural space that made it so pleasant.

I know it probably sounds very gouache for most of the elite sophisticates here in NOVA, but for us it was a memorable experience.

My family has enjoyed a fried chicken, Mother's Day picnic too, however, we are not heathens and would never poison Mom with KFC.

The Ritz Carlton Mothers day brunch is 75$ a person, but it will be the Largest buffet with the best food you have ever had, and it is very upscale, the ballroom will sit 300+ people in there for Mothersday brunch

If I went to this brunch I would say I was a tranny and bring a large purse and load it up in the buffet line. No bones left on my plate.

Try Airlie Conference Center in Warrenton, Virginia. It's a long ride, but it will be a pleasant experience that won't break the bank. The food is good, too! Google, Yahoo! or Bing it.

My apologies, I just checked their website and it's sold out! No Airlie for you!
