Only difference is Westfield, as all other public schools in Northern Virginia, do not recruit/cheat/falsify documents to build programs as they do in the southern part of our state. When was the last time a coach from this area was suspended for recruiting violations. Then while on suspension got in trouble again for recruiting. That's one of many stories over the years in regard to the cheating that goes on, mainly in the Beach area schools. And by the way, that dominance has run its course as far as 6A football goes. Since 1999 the breakdown of state champions goes like this, 12 from the NOVA area, 4 Beach area schools, 2 from Richmond. Bottom line is there are more quality teams in the Northern Virginia area now than anywhere else in the state. We don't cheat up here, we do it the old fashioned way. Get the kids in the youth programs and coach them up all the way through high school. Teach them to honor and respect the game, play hard, don't cheat, let the cards fall where they may.By the way, the original post was about winning state championships in two separate major boys sports. So stop living in the past, your glory days are over.....
