Well, there's one, at the park, but it's rarely green.

Plus it'd be hard to *beat* no red lights -- what, negative red lights?

That is before 50. I'm pretty sure 50 to 7 has no lights, actually there might just be that one light at the park from 7 to 66.

Oh, doh, he *said* 50 and I was thinking further south, though where, I can't imagine, since the next thing south from there is 66! Right, no lights left between that one and 7. VDOT is quite proud of that. Going south, there's the mess at Braddock just north of 28, but otherwise they done kilt 'em all.

1987 is when they started widening 28 from 66 north: we got caught in the construction traffic on our way to Dulles for our wedding shower and missed the flight. So I'm pretty sure I know what year it was :)

Plus I said "rarely green", and of course meant "rarely red". Must be on drugs tonight.

Sounds right. The light at the park going south on 28 from 7 is the first of a long stretch of lights through Manassas and all the way to 29, south of Warrenton. Perhaps OP’s intent was to point out how lucky we are to be able to race all the way to the top of Virginia without the hindrance of traffic lights. Whoopee!!!

From RT 7, heading south on RT 28, Ellanor C Lawrence Park is were the first light is before I66.

I drove RT 28 from RT 29 to RT 7 and back for 4 years. Never got a ticket!!
