She was sentenced to 56 months in prison today for embezzling over $1 million. The prosecution papers show Her co-conspirator was DM -- the initials of her husband David H. Miller. The co-conspirators embezzled over $300,000 from Miller's firm when he was their General Counsel. Pretty clear who DM is. So, the question of the day is why is David H. Miller not being arrested, indicted or prosecuted??? Did he walk away free? And is he still a member in good standing of the DC and Va Bars? Just does not seem right. He should be punished for his crimes too and based on the papers filed he is at least as guilty and probably more.

David Miller used to be Chair of the Board of NOVA Community College and ran for Clerk of Fairfax County Court but had to withdraw when it came out he had not paid his taxes for a number of years. A real piece of work. Why was his wife sent to jail without him even being arrested? He must be the DM referred to in prosecution papers. Why does the USAO not just identify the co-conspirator they call DM by name and bring a case against him? Does not seem fair only she is held accountable -- he is a member of the Bar and should not walk away scot-free.

So his wife goes to jail but somehow her husband and co-conspirator Dave Miller stays out of it??? The US attorney's Office only refers to her co-conspirator by initials DM and he is not mentioned by name and is not part of the case?? something is rotten here. What about prosecuting Miller? Why is he allowed to walk???

She was sentenced today not only for ripping off Saslaw but for two other fraud schemes. Altogether, they stole $1.4 million from people: as reported by Fairfax City Patch:

http://patch.com/virginia/fairfaxcity/fairfax-woman-sentenced-embezzling-653000-virginia-state-senator?utm_source=newsletter-daily&utm_medium=email&utm_term=politics%20%26%20government&utm_campaign=newsletter&utm_content=article-topstories

I'm going to assume that hubby DM ratted on her and got a better plea deal.

the penalty should fit the crime

steal a loaf of bread and your actually poor you should be awarded for not bothering the food food stamp people with an emergency, if your legit

steal a million, which a denizen would not see comparatively in many lifetimes: i would say that's a lifetime prison sentence. as that much missing money SURELY means poverty and ie death due to lack of medical care ... because missing money in the end turns up being miss from the poor when they most need it. and missing pay (the pay differential in fx co is horrendous - fed workers who are sacks of shit getting $150k, good poeople sweating it out due to lack of investment to do otherwise: less than $13k illegally low pay. absolutely the courthouse in VA is totally full of crap and aiding government corruption)

the penalty should fit the crime

you should see $1 million not if your a gov worker ever at all

you should see it if your an entrepeneur on his/her game who has a factory built under risk of poverty of failure with YOUR OWN money not loans by politically connected ultimately from gov sources

you should see a million if you risk and work your own ass and create a product MADE IN USA that people all want as part of their standard of living, a popular and useful product, for being a modern industrialist. or for perhaps making an award winning film peope ordered (not sleezy cable company money - actually bought off of amazon.com)

and not otherwise

you should see a million if your the child of a very wealthy industrialist who's one wish is that his family not have the hardships he/she did in life

(noting in UK, the gov gets 1/2 of the money at the industrialists death)

NOTE THAT IN USA if you read the laws: their are new laws specifically written to allow wealthy people to avoid not only death tax but also income tax - that is not only does the family not pay income tax when recieving money transfered after death (which is a gift and even if not so is income and usually taxed)

the new laws allow these sacks of shit to shuffle company money into the family money so that huge somes of money are never taxed as income

the new laws, since the days of Windows 95 and Wordpad'ing in new laws and pritning them and insistiting to others at gunpoint they were true: became something anyone could do

I did some Google research and this is just the tip of the iceberg.
They also created a fake charity for kids with autism using his position on the Board of NVCC and bilked the money. The court order I found said they also took money from a Company A, that he worked for as General Counsel. I found a site thru Google for a company called Skylink Aviation that had a David Miller listed as GC until 2014. Sounds like this Dave Miller is an attorney with Democratic political connections, so it's pretty likely he gets to walk away and she most likely will only do house arrest. Have to love our judicial system.
It's also pretty suspicious that Saslaw didn't realize he was losing money as fast as he was getting it. And we wonder why the country is in the shape it's in with dirty politicians everywhere.

You note " I am going to assume hubby DM ratted on her and got a better plea deal". OK. But he has NOT plead guilty to anything, and has NOT even been identified as the co-conspirator by the FBI or Prosecutor even though his wife pled guilty to conspiring with DM five months ago. That is not normal.

The research on Google shows David Miller was up to his hips in criminal activity. The company A they ripped off was the one he was General Counsel at -- Skylink. The foundation they ripped off he started using his position on NOVA and the fact that two of his children were autistic to give him cred. A master con. But the best con is walking away wih 1.4 million without any personal accountability. Catch Me If You Can.

Dave Miller seems to have disappeared with no charges ever brought despite the fact that he clearly was the co-embezzler and co-conspirator with his wife!! How did he do it?? No plea no proceedings nothing. Wow. He embezzled from his firm Skylink. Did he have inside info linking Skylink to national security matters that he used to bargain his way out of jail? Not a clue but SOMETHING happened as he has not surfaced in the case.

Of course the co-conspirator was Dave Miller!!! The crime began by ripping off the company where he worked, Skylink, when he was counsel there. Yet somehow he has never been indicted or convicted despite the fact that his wife received a strong sentence for their embezzlement. How did he manage to sleaze out of the matter?

the first scheme, Wallis, along with a co-conspirator, D.M., created two fraudulent companies, the first known as Federal Legal Associates, and the second was The Straile Group. Through various methods including fraudulent wire transfers and checks, Wallis caused approximately $368,400 in loss to Company A.
The second scheme involved the embezzlement of approximately $653,000 from the campaign account of Saslaw. From June 2013 to September 2014, Wallis served as the treasurer of the Saslaw for State Senate campaign. During that time, Wallis issued or caused to be issued, approximately 73 fraudulent checks from the Saslaw for State Senate campaign bank account, which totaled approximately $653,000. Wallis made the checks payable to the aforementioned Federal Legal Associates, The Straile Group, and herself. All of the checks were issued without knowledge or permission of Saslaw or his campaign staff, and were deposited into accounts she independently controlled or that were jointly controlled with co-conspirator D.M.
The third scheme involved misuse of funds from a charitable organization, of which Wallis was Executive Director, and co-conspirator D.M., co-founded. The Community College Consortium on Autism and Intellectual Disabilities (CCCAID) claimed to provide assistance to community colleges for program development and implementation and information on the availability of resources for sustainability of programs.
Wallis and D.M. marketed CCCAID as a non-profit entity, but they never applied for non-profit status for the organization. In April 2010, Wallis established CCCAID’s bank account, and between April 2010 and April 2013, community colleges located around the country contributed approximately $293,000 to CCCAID. Additionally, a Bulgarian businessman associated with co-conspirator D.M. donated $500,000 to CCCAID.

The funds contributed to CCCAID were to be used to further the mission of the organization and not to enrich Wallis or co-conspirator D.M. Despite these restrictions, from April 2010 to August 2014, Wallis authorized approximately $482,000 in transfers from CCCAID’s account to other bank accounts Wallis and co-conspirator D.M. controlled. A significant percentage of the $482,000 CCCAID was used to pay Wallis’ and co-conspirator D.M.’s personal expenses, such as mortgage payments, expenses related to food and restaurants, merchandise purchases, and a vacation.

It is obvious that 'Davis Monthan' is 'David Miller' trying to derail these comments. His favorite expression is 'Jesus Christ' a Jew who always calls out Jesus...it shows how much he practices his religion!! He sold his soul to the devil and moved to a remote Maryland town to hide from society and to hide from this embarrassment.

According to the indictment, David Miller is a con man who is so low he used a sham Autism Foundation he set up to steal about $1 million from kids who needed help. As General Counsel, he stole money from his former employer, Skylink, by paying monies to a sham law firm he set up that was supposedly doing business with Skylink.

Worse, he lets his wife plead guilty and walks while she does 5 years in prison. He is guilty as sin but is never indicted or disbarred. Instead, he goes to work as a lobbyist for Jerry Weller. Somehow, he wriggled out -- he must have had some serious dirt he could bargain on - is Skylink a CIA front and did Miller have dirt about its involvement dirty activities?

I know Dave Miller and followed this case once his wife’s crimes were reported. I read the indictment which made it clear beyond doubt that Dave Miller was equally guilty - or possibly more. I never could understand why both cases were not brought. After all this time I thought the sleaze Miller always has been managed to once again sleaze out. So, my cynical response that the gvt. had decided for some reason to let Miller slide has been allieved. Slow Justice is still Justice. Thank you ED USA for doing the right thing here. This man stoke from families with autistic kids. This man was a co-conspirator to steal from a State Senator. This man testified in Congress on Autism and was praised for what he did for them when all he did was take needy families money and use it to book private planes to fly to Hanaica and stay on an estate with full time staff, a swimming pool and his own golf greens. This man is a pig and should spend his remaining years behind bars. Not in a prison country club.

David Miller was working as a lobbyist for the last 2 and half years until the Beacon informed the lobbying group's clients that he had been indicted and they fired him in November 2017.

http://freebeacon.com/politics/firm-fires-dem-lobbyist-indicted-embezzlement-misusing-autism-charity-funds/

These crimes he is indicted for occurred years ago and his co-conspirator wife plead guilty in 2015...why hasn't Miller's trial gone forward yet? He was indicted in September, 7 months ago.

Dave Miller lives in Denton, MD. In October 2017 he befriended my new business partner, set up an LLC with the almost identical name as our LLC, portrayed himself to others as one of the owners of our business, took checks made out to his LLC that were intended for our LLC. He has triplets which are one girl and two sons. The sons have severe autism. I would like to see this man go to prison. Luckily he only got about $1,000 of our money. So you could definitely say fraud and identity theft after his indictment.....he hasn't learned a thing.

It is the day before 2021, and Miller is starting the sixth month of his 88-month sentence.

To all those who were wondering back in 2016 why "DM" was not on trial and his wife seemed to be taking the fall, it should be apparent by now that Judge Ellis had a plan. Because the Millers had three children, two of them autistic, he would not put both of them in prison at the same time. He didn't want the kids to pay the price for their parents' crimes. He timed it so that Miller went to jail within weeks of his wife's release. Or at least that's the way it worked out. This was, in my view, a very wise and good move. It shows we still have a criminal justice system that is worthy of the name and the country.

By the time Miller gets out of prison, he will be 78 years old and broke. He might be able to get a job bagging groceries at Safeway (though they will have to check his pockets every evening before he leaves work). Even if he got out of prison tomorrow, there would be no way in which he could organize another scam. He has no job, no title, no standing. He might be able to scam someone out of $1,000, as he did poster Terry R., but you can't live very long on that and he likely would be caught and sent back in prison until he dies. His life is over. The system works slowly but it works.
