WJFK Shows and Black People

Being a brother myself, I find it weird how the shows on JFK have this need to to venerate black people while at the same time fueling stereotypes to the point of flame-out.
For instance I was just listening to the Junkies, and they had Sac-town Mike on again. The Junkies think that this idiot is the spokesperson for all black people. Let me tell you that brother does not speak for me. Sac-town is a typical 'Stepin Fetchit'. Why don't they just dress this guy up in a short sleeve tuxedo, spats, give him a parasol and have him tap dance down Main street while balancing a wedge of watermelon. It really bothers when they ask the Sac,"Gee Sac-town, how do 'the brothers', feel about {insert topic}".
Sac-town: Well now lookie here now... Fo' de brothers be a sayin' dat a white chick musta have a fat bottom fo' to be liked. Lookie here at this big basket of cotton, I had a good day in de field today".
Then Sac's answer is taken as gospel for the spokesperson for blacks has spoken.

Bid O and Dukes, also have a black fetish. Chad and Drab do that I wish I was black, all black people are cool thing. Guess what Drab, I'll switch skin with you for a week, and then get back to me. I am not saying that blacks are constantly persecuted, but not a week goes by where I don't run into some degree of racism, that on some level hurts.

Sorry for da rant now, but Sac Town done set me offa here dis mornin'.

The Junkies grew up in PG and think they are "pretty fly for a white guy." You have a bunch of 40-year-old men wearing their baseball caps backwards and talking about banging chicks. They are pathetic and they suck.

You could try finding something else to listen to. Hows about something more
intellectually stimulating such as Howard Stern for example.

I don't think they think all black people are like sac-town Mike, but some are. Just like not all white people are red-necks - but some are so its fun to make fun of the stereotype. In fact, that's why its humorous because you realzie wow, there ae some people who fit th stereotype. BUT, I don' think any reasonable person would listen and come away thinking that all black people are like him or that he speaks for all black people.

Why is it when one presents a cogent critique, someone always has to chime in with,"Why don't you listen to something else". As if having an issue with any content of a given show demands that the listener should listen to something else.
So Bowen, if you have a problem with my post, why don't you read another thread?

While I agree with the spirit of your post, I must say that the ultimate way to "voice" your disapporval is yo turn to station. If everyone that didn't like what they heard, tuned into something else...the Junkies (or any other offensive show) would eventually be off the air because listeners didn't listen.

I do listen to the Junkies and I must say that to me, a disporportionate number of their callers seem to be black so not all blacks appear to be offended -- at least not enough to stop listening.

Having said that, we should be able to voice concern and have a discussion without preempting the conversation by saying turn the station.

Your decision to listen to childish gibberish is certainly your right.

As soon as judge Sotomayor is confirmed by the US Senate, this sort of nonsense
will be banned from the airwaves.

The junks always have Cowboy Todd on, when he's not locked up. He's the poster boy of country white trash.

They probably mean well. Or believe whatever potentially edgy things they present involving race are rendered innocuous due to their "street cred".

With Big O and Dukes, Drab merely wishes he was black. Which is occasionally amusing.

They'll be done with their comedy material soon though.
