Yeah the directed patrols are the effective ones, as opposed to the checkpoints. Call a cab from Franconia/Springfield.

Directed patrol = they dedicate patrol cars to driving around looking for DUI suspects. Checkpoint = get twenty offers and ten auxiliaries to sit at one point and check every car.
Directed patrol = stop 50 cars during the night, bust 20 for DUI, and the rest for other offences
Checkpoint = stop 800 cars during the night, catch one or two DUI's, write ten or twenty other traffic tickets

directed patrol means cops drive around on patrol specifically looking for drunks. checkpoints stop everyone on a particular road at a particular place and check a specified sample number.

Probably the FCPD press releases, they usually announce on the day they are going to do it.

Those are the pretexts they'll use to pull suspicious people over, though. Which means tonight is NOT the night to do that, unless you like having an increased chance of getting pulled over for something they normally don't bother themselves with.
