If you've had the stuff that long, you might as well wait for a shredding day. You might not be able to sit and watch, but its free.

Or if you have a credit union, check the website and see if they do it. I had my stuff shredded at a credit union event, and they threw the stuff into the shredder while I was standing there.
Does your workplace have a shedding service? If it is one of those that has the locked bins, why don't you just take some to work a little at a time?
