The point is you dipshit volunteers can "volunteer" to leave the fire house anytime you want. Just cause "it's valentines at the fire station" doesn't mean you get to come in and spread your stupid Instagram pictures all over and then leave. Meanwhile the career folks HAVE to stay for the full 24 hours.

Yep! Big cuts coming to your local FCFRD and your local firehouse. Our mission to serve and protect the citizens of Fairfax County and their property will definitely be tested in FY 2017! Not sure why the BOS insists that volunteers can fill in at career stations during 24 furloughs without ramifications...I just hope nobody (citizen or FF) dies on my watch!

The people who occupy the fire stations, (I refuse to call them fire fighters, a little oxymoron-ish) are overpaid pussies. They whine and bitch when they have to leave the comfort of their bunks or recliners and have to take a day of to recover from seeing something traumatic.

As a Fairfax County resident of almost 50 years, I've come to the conclusion that "Professional" firefighters see their decades-long run at scamming taxpayers is coming to an end. Meanwhile, I support any volunteer "Firefighter".

You County tit-suckers are the reason are taxes are going up. I prefer less taxes, and I prefer you "Professional" firefighters start saving your own money for retirement, instead of relying on the tired concept of Taxpayer Funded Pensions. I'm sick and tired of you firefighters, policemen, and other county workers, who believe you can work for 20 years, and then get some kind of pension. You guys suck dick big time.

A a retired Firefighter from FXCO i can tell you that my retirement income did not come free. I payed into the retirement system to the tune of six figures. If you really want to see where the waste is coming from in Fairfax? Look how much money the county spends to educate the illegals that they embrace for their diversity by being a sanctuary city. You know the same ones i used to have to transport to the hospital after they beat or stabbed or shot one of you yuppie Obama voters.

Volunteers in Loudoun can get very minor benefits. I think that maximum is something like a $300 a month pension, and that is with many years of service. It's no cash cow.
