Are you talking about before insurance, or outright?

If you are paying straight cash, it is the Wild West out there. You will have to call and ask, maybe dicker, maybe ask for somebody who actually knows what is going on. Sometimes they have an uninsured rate. So, if you are just paying the fine and skipping coverage, you might be able to get a discounted rate. They do MRI's at the hospitals as well as the free-standing facilities.

You might have better luck at a place further out. I know when I had to have some veterinary surgery for a pet I went out to Purcelleville and paid half what they wanted in Fairfax. Don't know if it works the same for people or not.

Good luck.

Mark j you are a clueless dick. Please take your ignorance elsewhere. If op does have Obamacare he/she is lucky. Doctors and labs charge a set amount for services or tests like MRI's and insurance companies have set amounts they will pay. The insurance amount is always less than the doctor's charge, but the doctor will take that lesser amount as payment in full. So basically if you have insurance it will cost you less even if you have to meet a deductible first. This is how our fucked up system works. If you don't have any insurance you are doubly screwed.

Obviously, you have never had a pet diagnosed at Animal Scan. It's very expensive and you are out-of-pocket for all of it.

Dumbass! Obamacare doesn't provide health care. It assures that you have access to it, and that you don't try to play worthless cheap-skate right-wing free-loader. Best thing to happen to this country since Medicare.

+1 I've paid way more for diagnostic pet care than I have for myself.

Go to Inova, ask about the charity discount. You'd be surprised how tolerant they are if all your paperwork is in order.

Fun fact:

If you pay cash, medical procedures cost almost 1/2 less.

Libcucks don't want you to know that.

Look up Progressive Radiology - offices in Maryland, including Montgomery County. If you're willing to make the drive, they are less expensive. Virginia's prices are usually higher due to the requirement for a Certificate of Need, which limits the number of private practice offices that can open. A rare instance in which Maryland may be cheaper.

This works for oil changes at Gomer & Goober's Filling Station. Otherwise, YMMV.

Probably on your smallest toe. Least surface area to be imaged.

I guess I'm going to apply for charity care at Inova. I haven't been able to walk without crutches for almost two months now. I had a CT scan but it doesn't show soft tissue so I really need an MRI so I can see what the problem is. Sick of this, I just want to walk again. :(
