The increase demanded of Fairfax County is 6.7%, not 4.8%.

To balance the budget, a 6.7 percent increase in funding from the County is needed.

And that assumes that the state will continue to fund 15% of the total FCPS budget, despite the massive spending increase proposed.

Remember when the school board determined that every $1,000 "invested" in technology would result in $2,000 dollars in savings per student per year?

It turns out that FCPS will spend close to $12,000 on technology per student over the course of their 13-year career of learning, but the decrease in cost per student has only been about $1,000 per year.

And somehow we are still not spending enough on technology and our cost-per-student is too low.

So let's just get this straight: Democrats are the smartest people on the planet, and they want not only what I'm already paying (which is a lot!), but they want more, to accomplish what they want with this County. In reality, they want more money in their own pockets, i.e., a raise.

Well, as a taxpayer, I'm not impressed. The kids these days are dumb as a bucket of bolts. We need to fire most of the current teachers.

We need to freeze the 2017 budget at 2016 income. The government-tit-suckers will figure it out. In fact, there will be a lot of in-fighting among these government workers, because they're not a team. They are a group of individuals who only think for themselves.

Fairfax County Government sucks! Vote Republican this fall at all levels, including all things at the County level.

It did not, the numbers have always been 4.8 and 6.7 respectively the difference is the confusion over what those numbers represents

6.7% represents the increase FCPS is requestion from FFX to fully fund the budget

4.8% represents the overall increase of the 2017 budget when compared to the 2016 budget.

A one mil increase in the RE tax will result in approximately $22 million in additional tax revenue.
