According to this, FCPS owns this and several adjacent lots that they acquired for $0 in 2009. Maybe for a school that wasn't built?

That money will not be accounted for.
Fcps got money for 2100 new students this fiscal year.

They never came.
Money was spent anyway.
Where did it go!

That's the equivalent of a large high school.

Poof, we need more money......

A $900,000 house in Springfield? Karen Garza would never consider living in such a slum.

FCPS name for it is the Springfield Village job site and is part of the Career and technical Education Academy program where the kids spend can spend their personal time on, usually is part of a summer deal.

"Spring Village Residential Construction Site

Spring Village Residential Construction Site offers students an opportunity to construct single-family homes while earning an hourly wage."

It was probably about 10 years ago, as a bus driver, that I took a group of students from Marshall High School to a work site right next to Spring Hill Rec Center. The teacher that went with the students explained to me how they constructed houses which were then sold.

I couldn't remember the name of the street so I looked it up on Google Maps.....Artnauman Ct. Fairfax County property search shows there were actually 2 houses sold on that street by the school board.

I used to do a shuttle from Robinson SS to this job site. Took 3 or 4 guys down there, but no teachers rode.

They are nice houses, right on the FFX Parkway a bit north of Backlick Rd exit.

They are probably better built than most houses. There are US-born instructors watching over them and they take quite a while to build them. About one a year I think. Gotta be better than a place built by a gang of Mexicans throwing them up as fast as they can go.
