Why we should protest in front of the NRA in Fairfax
Posted by: Guns Suck ()
Date: February 03, 2016 06:12PM

One more reason to march in front of the NRA building this weekend:

Just after midnight on December 22, 2014, I got a phone call that no parent should ever get. It was my niece, who I raised as a daughter, telling me that she and my granddaughter had both been shot. A man had broken into her house and chased the two of them into the driveway, before shooting both of them and then himself.

Someone from the sheriff's department told me later that the killer used a gun that he bought legally, with no background check, from a seller on Facebook. He was a convicted felon.

Thankfully, at the urging of President Obama, last week Facebook moved to ban the selling of guns on its site. Headlines like that give me hope, but hundreds of thousands of guns are still available for sale online, no questions asked and no background check required.

Obama For America volunteers have been working hard to hold our elected leaders accountable and demand that they take action to curb gun violence in America.

Stand with me by joining us-- say you'll keep up the fight against gun violence.

When too many of our representatives in Washington are busy hiding from special interest groups, it depends on each one of us raising our individual voices to make change.

Together, we've pushed Congress to pass the universal background checks that a vast majority of Americans support. And in the face of Congressional inaction, we're working alongside our friends and neighbors to pass common-sense initiatives at the state and local levels. That's what progress looks like, and it's how we're going to keep moving forward.

I have been an OFA volunteer since the beginning. I will do anything I can to protect other families from what I experienced, and I know you feel the same way.

Show your support for gun violence prevention.

With hope and love,

Martha Clark

Ms. Clark,

Perhaps your energies would be better focused on "real" issues in America. Guns kill such a small number of people. However, in 2014, more people died from drug overdoses than any year in U.S. history: 47,055.

And you think your time is best spent by standing outside the NRA HQ and protesting for a few hours on Friday? Seriously?

Total b.s.

Just a democrat operative trying to use this as an election issue to drive the vote now that African Americans will be sitting this one out.

Let me key you in on a little secret. Most of the general public understands your tactics and outright lies intended to scare voters into voting democrat. You are shameless and should be held to public ridicule for your lies.

Post a link to the story and I'll meet you at the NRA and join the protest witH a smile. You won't because this is all b.s. designed by the DNC.

I hope you get hooping caugh and diarrhea when you vote your prerequisite 5 times this year.

Sheriff's department, case # and name of the perp, please?

if he is a convicted felon then BY DEFINITION he did not buy any gun legally. You're not going to see criminals lining up to get feel-good background checks and this has nothing to do with the NRA. If you feel so strongly about it why are you not protesting in front of Facebook headquarters?

Fuck you and fuck your family bitch. Take your gun control bullshit and shove it up your ass. If that loser wanted to kill your family, he'd get a gun illegally if he had to. You're a god damn idiot and it's no wonder your family paid the price.

What I find so sad and ironic about most Libs is they latch onto things they want to change or outlaw but they have never actually done anything hands on or really understand what the cause is they are trying change. They are like a farm animal just following the one in front of them.

Not one of these Chicken Little no more gun folks has ever picked up a gun, ever understood how they work, spent any time at a range using one. Everyone in my house can handle weapons, understands how they work, how to make sure they are either loaded or empty, know how to enable the safety, know how to shoot them and respects them. My kids started handling firearms when they were 10 years old and have been to the range to use them. Knowledge and experience is important and makes anyone around firearms safer.

As someone that owns and practices with the multiple guns I own on a regular basis, I fully agree that some of the guns sales rules need to be looked at a bit closer. However, the methods used to attempt these changes really needs to be thought trough much more in detail. I have a very close friend that I make most of my purchases through. He is a small seller that mainly became involved with sales due his hobby. He will not sell to just anyone. He knows most of his purchasers personally or makes sure someone can really vouch for the purchasers. A bit more scrutiny then a local store that has no idea who Joe is that walks off the street. Many of the small sellers are better for the industry.

One day some of you clowns are going to be VERY glad there are guns allowed on campus or in schools, someone has a concealed weapon at the bank, store, mall or movie theater and saves just a few lives. Most people carrying weapons are not going to jump up in front of the line to rip off a few rounds, but they will likely use the weapon if and when it is necessary.

With the current environment of hate for the US and crazies in the world, you might wonder why gun sales and concealed carry permits are on the rise. For all of you that think the government and local police are looking after your best interest and will be there to save you in a hostage/shooting situation, think again. Even law enforcement is tell you to take matters into your own hands in an active shooter situation because statistically more people are killed in an active shooter situation before the police can even arrive on scene.

Protest all you want, but maybe a clear and common sense approach to getting things changed for the better is a better tactic.

If she made a phone call did she die afterwards, did the granddaughter die?

Where did they bury the survivors?

Too bad she didn't have a gun to protect herself. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

All of you supporting a protest at the NRA obviously don't read newspapers or watch the news. The Obama administration recently signed a "deal" with Iran which insures Iran will develop a nuclear bomb. At the same time, Obama wants to take guns away from law abiding citizens. Wake up and smell the coffee folks!

This x 9000. Liberals are fucking morons and think Cops should be able to shoot like libtarded videogame faggots in Call of Duty. Sorry libtards but shooting a gun is much harder than aiming in a video game. Most of you are too weak to even properly handle the kickback on small semi-auto pistol.

Liberals are the reason why I bought my first gun last year and will be buying another this february in Chantilly. I do not even really like guns myself but if cops, niggers, minorities, and jevernment get them, I WANT THEM.

Liberals honestly think banning guns would do anything... They would still exist and people would get their hands on them, make their own, and coordinate to find and produce ammo.

Libtards are fucking idiots and speak from a delusional, emotionally damaged state.

You fucking moron. What does the possibility of Iran having nukes (which this deal is designed to prevent, not 'insure' (sic)) have to do with guns in this country? Do you really think your little pea shooters are going to hold off a nuclear bomb?!? I can see you assholes now...pew!pew!pew!pew!

Like you, I didn't own any weapons and actually went for a 20+ year period of not owning any firearms since leaving the military. However, in a 4-month period of 2015, I bought 4 nice weapons with income I made from a small side gig that I did. The irony? 80% of the $4K that I made was off of Liberals. They aided my purchase of 4 fine firearms. Thanks Libz.

Trump wouldn't be a wrong choice, but Cruz supporters told caucus-voters that supported Carson that CNN was reporting that Carson was going to be taking a break and was a signal that he was dropping out. CNN was reporting that, so it wasn't a lie per se. Trump or Cruz. Anyone who will stop heading over the cliff the democrats are taking us over, just a little slower is who I'll support. Only Trump or Cruz will reverse course. The rest will just tap the breaks a couple of times but we'll still be heading towards a European-style shitstorm of big government dictates, multi-cultural bullshit, socialized industries and services and a complete pussification of our society.
