Seperate Langley, Great Falls, Mclean from rest of county

Instead of making FFX county a town seperate Langley, Great Falls, and McLean from the rest of the county. They pay 70% of FFX county's taxes and still have crappy roads.

But they want crappy roads - you try putting a 3-lane highway, section-8 unit or a day-labor site in Great Falls - or redistricting LHS - and see how far you get. And who can blame them

Our aim should be to stay more like them and avoid becoming more like LA

The one upside of the recession is that its slowed the developers down

Oh boy, that would be interesting. You get a fragmentation scenario like Los Angeles. Most of the wealthy areas become separate cities, leaving the shitsville sections of Los Angeles to rot.

my guess is that's why the BoS have raised this

a) we're getting ripped off by Richmond
b) Reston's already raised the issue and other areas may as well
c) fragmentation would play hell with the schools etc

they may be thinking that the best bet is to all move together

I see a lot of similarities between (Annandale, Springfield, Franconia, Chantilly) and (South Central, Compton, Watts, East LA). All of these places are a big dump

I wouldn't call Springfield a dump.

Ok let's call Springfield little Korea. How's that? better? Or do you prefer El Springfield? I prefer to call it a dump!

Change of status requires GA approval, and there is no way the GA will approve this. Fairfax County is the cash cow for the rest of VA and still has many good 'milking' years left.
