Drive-in movie

Hi, New to the area and I am looking for a drive-in movie theatre. Are there any around? If not does anyone know the closest one? I swear when we first moved here a couple months ago I saw one somewhere (in my lost & dazed confusion) and that it also had a flea market on the weekends. Anyone? Thanks

Thank you so much for the lovely post Harry - your charm and friendliness just is overwhelming...

I have looked online - I thought there might be one off of 50 - not so far out as Centreville.

You know we just moved here from Scranton PA and I thought the people there were jerks... so far Harry - you belong in Scranton in my books.

The majority of people in this area are very helpful and nice.

As far as I know, all the drive in movies in Northern Va are gone. They do have a summer 'drive in movie' in Centreville during the month of August. Its family fare, not a traditional drive in theater.

The last active true drive-in I saw was on Rt 11 way out near Stephens City, and that was several years ago.

Chica is correct. My last post was a mistake; I thought those were still-operating drive-ins, but I see now they're not.

The closest drive-in to here that still runs is that one in Stephens City iirc. Way out about 1.5 hours west.

Yup, it's still there. 66 West to 81 north and go north about 7 miles to Stephens City. Once you get past Gainesville it's about 50 minutes.

All Drive-in's around here are gone. There now the big multi-plex -- and the one on Lee Hwy and Route 1 are now closed too

I have heard there is one up in Baltimore County that still shows drive-in appropriate films (ie horror,sci-fi)

It is called Benjis and yes it shows double/tripple features. If you can deal with the drive, and you can deal with the Boaltimororons, it is an interesting experiance.

I went to this one a couple years ago. It is pretty near the Beltway and probably closer if you're in eastern Fairfax county.
