That looks like my little green 'Jimmy' - he flys out the door every time the piano tuner comes to visit...

I think I had read in the Washington Post that some animals, including some birds, were taken from an owner who had a medical emergency. When the emergency response team responded to this person having the medical emergency, they found neglected animals inside the house and the police came and took these animals to the shelter. It may not be this particular bird, but I remember that some birds were taken and some other animals. It was in the paper last Thursday.

That is a pretty bird.

This is one of those credit card fraud schemes. The bird, once in your home, gets into your wallet or purse, and memorizes your credit card numbers.

Once the numbers are committed to memory, the bird flies back to the "Operator" and the information is used to make fraudulent purchases.

Beware of the "Parrot Game".

Is that an Amazon or a conure?

I think it's a pionus. Hopefully people do their research before adopting a bird.

Remember this little stray green parrot? Well, one of our adoption counselors, Lauren, did a lot of research based on the few clues we had, and she was able to track down his owner. This little bird's name is Azzurro, and he had been missing since April!! When his dad came to pick him up, Azzurro recognized him right away. He perched on his shoulder, happily stretching his wings, bobbing his head, and preening contentedly. Hooray Azzurro! And thanks to our wonderful staff member, Lauren, for her dedication to finding this little bird's family!

I see the family resemblance, but parrot has prettier feathers.
