El nino - not global warming. It happens! We had 80 degrees on New Year back in the early 90s

Yup, just because the Earth is getting warmer doesn't mean the earth is warming up.

Now please excuse me. I need to get back to the Glen Beck website.

John Berlau would disagree with all claims of increased warmth. Of course, he will also tell you that trees pollute more than cars and that DDT is good for you.

Nothing is going on. It IS NOT unusual.

I well remember Christmas Day 1982. I was a little kid and got a lot of sporting gear that day. My brothers and I played basketball outside in shorts and T-shirts. It was a beautiful day. High temp? 70 degrees

"Unusual" means "not usual" There is no case at all for the "usual" temperature in these parts being 75 degrees on December 25.

So we're probably going to break a record high dating back to 1933 today.

What was 1933's excuse for being so warm? More global warming?

The term for you is "incredibly bamboozled dumbfuck." Fits that bungle-bunny Bush as well. Iraq, Katrina, the Great Recession. With the possible exception of the African AIDS initiative, everything Bush tried to do turned into just another example of miserable disgrace and failure.

This.

Last year and if when we've otherwise had colder than usual weather patterns the same idiots would switch sides and they'd be making the opposite case. Warmer than typical weather = global warming! Colder than typical weather = weather!

Why do they blame this on El Nino? There has not been a La Nina winter for years, they have recently all been El Nino winters with lots of snow and cold in most regions of the US except for warm winters in the southwest. Who the heck do they think they are kidding???

Nibiru is getting closer.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVgQXzuU5O8

The closer it gets the more the planetary disruptive events will occur.

It affects the earth tilt and wobble and the orbits of all the planets to a degree. Major weather changes will become the norm until these planetoids exit our solar system again.

So i lived in michigan which was once a glacier. Who heated the planet to cause that? Please provide absolute proof (photo or did not happen). Suckers.

If you average out the trends for ACTUAL temperatures over the last 100 years you see will that the trend is a warming trend.

No fudging of figures or anything like that, just using the ACTUAL temperatures. You can decided for yourself what that warming trend means.

Exactly, but the people who claim a warm spell in a single December is evidence of global warming are idiots. So are people who claim single digit temps in a single December is evidence that global warming is not happening. Global warming is an upward trend in average temperature. It is happening - unless you think thermometers can't be trusted. Then you have bigger problems.

The way I see it you got two choices.

If you believe in evolution , you wrongly think that man can freeze (no pun intended) current temperatures (or even reverse them) by alternate fuels. How smug do you have to be to think that the human species deserves to be here for the next 100 million years? We need to the the cockroach have his day since they are most equipped to survive any catastrophe. Besides, this place is such a tiny spec in the vast universe and you think it's the only place that deserves saving. So all you high and mighty climate changers are arrogant buffoons willing to give up your paychecks for a Dream on a friggin rock.

If you belive in a God. Then you belive he would not create a a planet that would fry the skin off of his creation.
You also know that the world ends in an awesome fireball according to the book of revelation.

Either way, you might want to worry about something else.

Actually not. The only way that you get a warming trend, mostly in more recent years, is by using 'adjusted' data. Actual data show little to none. That also can vary depending on what method is used for averaging. And the data are subject to adjustments in various directions depending on prevailing choices in methods at various times. Furthermore, we're looking at very small variances in temperature within practical measurement error for older data. Unless you're unaware of things like variance in calibration and think that Hiram checking a thermometer out back of the salt house in 1820 is directly comparable to NASA GISTEMP measurements. In fact, despite what you're fed as pop science along the lines of the 97% consensus bs, the actual extent and pace of warming is a matter of significant scientific disagreement.

You're just a worthless lying flat-earth apologist dumbass. Pack up and get the hell out of Dodge before you hurt yourself. People with an actual brain realize that dopes like Richard Tol and shit-factories like the Competitive Enterprise Institute, the Heartland Institute, the John Locke Foundation, and the Liberty Fund have never done an honest day's work in their lives. They are hatchet-wielders for hire whose results do not depend in any way upon actual evidence. Their only "science" is how to prey upon the mentally feeble, which plainly puts you directly in their cross-hairs. Congrats on being such an eager dupe.

1) Tolerate My Intolerance, You Intolerant Bigot.
2) Free speech ends where a Liberal's opinion begins.
3) "Tolerant" Liberals who cannot tolerate anyone else expressing an opinion that differs from theirs.

Nope. Actually I have an MS in a relevant field as well as a pretty good general background in various other earth sciences and I understand what the data actually say versus the bs political talking points.

You on the other hand very likely were a sociology or poli-sci major who believes the dumb pop science that you're fed not by 'scientists' but by politicians and policy types. There's a '97%' chance that you've never actually looked at what even a highly politicized group like the IPCC itself says.

What I said above is exactly the case and not disputed by objective proponents. '97%' of which don't buy into the hyperbolic bullshit either.

Mars ice caps are melting too. We should probably get humans off of that planet before it's too late.

There is not one single prediction made by these Global Hoaxers that has come true.

That's why they are now resorting to computer modeling that starts 50 years out.

Meanwhile, true scientists are laughing. Nominal scientists are shaking in their boots at the loss of federal funds.*

LOL! You're a clueless science-denying asshole who hasn't been properly trained in shape-sorting. There is NO WAY to explain current data from past data unless there is a CO2 component. The CO2 component is heavily driven over the past 150 years or so by human activity. There is no longer any actual scientific debate of this. These days, it is only partisan phonies and fat-heads such as yourself who take any issue with it at all. It is further an undeniable fact that of some 12,000 peer-reviewed abstracts dealing with global warming or global climate change published between 1991 and 2011, 97% of those taking a position on human causation agreed both that warming is occurring and that humans are the cause.

You want predictions, head across the railroad tracks and seek out some tarot card or tea-leaf reader.

Science meanwhile is a whole different topic.

The last two days the temperature has been way freaking below the historical AVERAGE temperature for January 18 and 19. What the hell is going on?

Two days out of an entire year? Why so warm all year long?

The weather was warm like this in December back in the 60s.

Weather comes in cycles- if you track data over a 50 to 100 year time period.

If you are 20 years or younger, you may not have experienced a warm Christmas in Virginia.

It does happen.

No need to call out AL Gore- the Inventor of the Internet and Global Warming

You're a sheep.

That's a complete bullshit number.

If you don't understand that, then you're a very stupid sheep.

Because it is as relevant as being 70 on Christmas Day - which is only one day out of an entire year.

It's 12 degrees right now. Does that mean global cooling is back on?

How come it's also so cold in February now? Less than 10 degrees on Valentines Day?

Is some changing on Earth?

I mean really the average historical low on Valentines Day is 33 degrees.

Typical brain-dead trained-seal asshole. Does it hurt to be that stupid?

Discussion in the 70s was over new data and preliminary analyses suggesting that the interval between successive ice ages might be narrowing, which would mean that the next one would be here sooner than we had thought. As is often the case in real science, further research and analysis showed that the pop-media play of it all was an unwarranted over-reaction.

Global warming is of course confirmed and re-confirmed by everything. Only pathetically dumb people are unable to recognize that at this point.

Winston from the Records Department at the Ministry of Truth speaks. Right out of the "rectification" of records sequence in 1984. That would have come as a huge surprise to those pushing it 40 years ago.

Science is science, asshole, not that you understand the first word of it. The next Ice Age is indeed on the way -- just as much today as it was in the 1970s. The only question is when is it going to get here. Pop-media then and now will seize upon stuff and blow it all out of proportion in service to their own money-making interests. It's what they do, and that includes suckering stooges like you all the time. Film at 11:00.

But the bozos do not alter the underlying facts. Those in the 1970s were that new data and preliminary analyses were suggesting that the interval between successive ice ages might be narrowing, which would mean that the next one would be here sooner than we had thought. But as is often the case in real science, further research and analysis showed that the pop-media play over it all was just unwarranted over-reaction. Nothing new to the grown-ups here.

The earth wobble: In the middle of winter, the sun still not set by 6PM? It used to be dark at 4:30-5PM when I grew up during the early January month.
