Numbers schmumbers - as a fellow Westfield grad you should realize Westfield is just simply better regardless of percentage breakdown

South County ran the ball 45 times. One carry went for 24 yards. Not a single of of the other 44 carries went for over 10 yards. Westfield's defense held one of the states most dynamic offenses to 13 points with almost no help from their offense and despite the fact that they have many young players. Looks to me that the defense is in for another big year. They could break the previous Westfield record for least points allowed in one season. The 2002 team allowed 124 points in 11 games, and the 2007 team allowed 132 points in 15 games. If their O-Line and RB get healthy, watch out.

South Lakes redistricting (half of Floris ES) and aging in place in the 90s/early 00s developments (Virginia Run, etc.) cut Westfield's numbers. The SL redistricting also cut Oakton's numbers (all of Fox Mill ES). With the addition of Fox Mill ES and half of Floris ES South Lakes became competitive.

Redistricting in FCPS is all about bad data supporting bad projections in the name of "balancing demographics" (unless, of course, it's Langley). And, when FCPS screws up the projections too much - as they seriously did with both Westfield when built and the South Lakes redistricting - the taxpayers of Fairfax County get asked to pay for shiny new additions to the receiving schools.

Thanks for the explanation. I knew about the Floris redistricting but I thought that it would at max affect 150-200 kids. This also explains how South Lakes became competitive and how Oakton declined. Now they're gonna waste money on expanding South Lakes while a school that is very nearby is about 500 kids under capacity. Sounds like FCPS lol.

Talent is cyclical. Mount Vernon played in the regional championship twice in the early 2000s. They are now 3-0 including a win last night against West Springfield. Many will say that the Spartans are down this year but after a few years of down MV seasons, I say that the Majors are back.

Go Majors

I have my eye on Centreville. They have had two very impressive wins that show they have their act together this year. If they can beat Broad Run and Tuscarora that will confirm they are back. I predict they will win those two games.

Centreville's wins were against really bad teams (Fairfax and Annandale). They did score a lot of points but they should have scored a lot in those games. Broad Run and Tuscarora will be a step up but neither team is as good this year as they have been historically. They should win both of those games also. Until CV is tested (Lake Braddock in week 5) we won't really know how good they are. They should get past Oakton (down this year again) and Herndon is another terrible team so if they manage to beat Lake Braddock then the potential for a matchup of 8-0 teams when they play Westfield 21 Oct is there.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wouldn't get my hopes up, Centreville has a couple players, that's it. I'm sure they'll win those Loudon County match ups, look at this past weekend. Tuscarora, Briar Woods, and Stone Bridge all lost to Fairfax County teams. The Loudon schools have had their football powers thinned out due to the addition of a couple new high schools. Look what happened to Briar Woods last year when Rockridge opened, BW's didn't have a down season, their talent was diminished due to a new high school. That's slowly happening to some of the other schools. Getting back to Centreville, they'll be decent but that's about it, might be some time before they're great again, if ever. Lake Braddock, Robinson, SOCO, Battlefield, and Westfield are the teams to consider when talking about the best in 6A in the North

Centreville (-21.0) @ Fairfax
*Centreville won 55-6. It looks like the Wildcats are going to be much improved as compared to last year.

Chantilly (-20.0) @ Lee
*Chantilly won 42-19.

Falls Church @ Potomac Falls (-27.0)
*Potomac Falls won 46-14, pretty close here

Hayfield (-10.0) @ Tuscarora
*Hayfield won 26-20, Hawks look like a legitimate threat for the Liberty this year.

Lake Braddock (-40.0) @ Annandale
*Lake Braddock won 52-7.

Langley @ Broad Run (-6.0)
*Broad Run won big, score not posted on allmet

Madison @ Stone Bridge (-7.0)
*Madison won 19-15, Warhawks coming out of the gate strong too. I think the Liberty at the top is going to be as competitive as it has in quite some time between Hayfield, Madison and South Lakes.

McLean (-3.0) @ Marshall
*Marshall won 21-6. Good bounce back for Marshall and McLean might now win a game this year.

Mount Vernon @ West Springfield (-14.0)
*The Spartans have fallen, Mount Vernon won 37-25. Mount Vernon should be very proud of their start.

Robinson (-13.0) @ Woodson
*Robinson dominated this game 45-7. Sets up an incredible Lake Braddock-Robinson match up next week!

South Lakes @ Briar Woods (-10.0)
*South Lakes wins 28-21.

Stuart @ Herndon (-35.0)
*I am embarrassed by this, my worst spread in my 7+ years doing this. Props to Stuart who scored 2 touchdowns the final 3 minutes to win 50-46 against the Hornets.

West Potomac (-42.0) @ Edison
*West Potomac won 60-7.

Westfield (-7.0) @ South County
*Westfield won 17-13, great defensive performance by the Bulldogs.

Yorktown @ Wakefield (-1.0)
*Wakefield has fallen off losing 35-0 Yorktown.

Several great games on tap for week 4!

Briar Woods @ West Potomac (-3.0)
*I believe this is the first ever matchup between these schools and it should be a great game.

Centreville (-10.0) @ Broad Run
*This is a tough one to predict, this could be a close game but I’m impressed by Centreville’s early scores.

Edison @ Marshall (-14.0)
*Edison has been outscored 127-7 in their first two games against strong opponents.

Herndon (-8.5) @ Falls Church
*I think Herndon bounces back after an extremely disappointing loss.

Lee @ West Springfield (-16.0)

McLean @ Madison (-35.0)

Oakton @ Tuscarora (-13.0)

Potomac Falls (-14.0) @ Langley

Robinson (-6.0) @ Lake Braddock
*This atmosphere is second to none and should be a great matchup between unbeaten. This is high school football at its finest in NOVA.

South County (-7.0) @ Hayfield
*This will be a fascinating matchup and it will tell me a lot about the status of both of these programs.

Stone Bridge (-14.0) @ Chantilly

Stuart @ Annandale (-1.0)

TC Williams @ Westfield (-28.0)

Woodson (-17.0) @ Fairfax

Wakefield @ Washington-Lee (-6.0)

Yorktown @ South Lakes (-17.0)

Steve K has been very good for a long time - I kept track of his picks last year (2015) including playoffs:

He was 158-32 picking winners. And he was 99-87-4 covering his spread.

West Potomac wins and covers.

I don't know enough about Broad Run, but Centreville has been impressive so far. I saw them play both Annandale and Fairfax. I do have one nitpick. Late in the first quarter against Fairfax, Centreville is up 7-0 and Fairfax is punting. Centreville returns the punt for a TD to go up 14-0 as time expired at the end of the first quarter. Problem is that a block in the back should have been called against Centreville and that TD should have been called back. Centreville likely would have scored on that possession, but they wouldn't have put up 28 points in the Second quarter as they did in the actual game. The score wouldn't have been as lopsided. Fairfax gave up another punt return for a TD. In their Annandale game, they won by dominating defense, and a grind it out offense. Annandale didn't get a first down until the second half.

> Edison @ Marshall (-14.0)

This isn't the same Marshall as two- three years ago. I'd pick Marshall to win and cover.

Agree, Herndon wins and covers.

>

I've been surprised by West Springfield so far (and in a negative way). I think they win and cover, but not by much.

>
> McLean @ Madison (-35.0)

I don't like 35+ point spreads. Having said that, I'm impressed by Madison so far. People discounted how they would look this year, but they forget that they had the best lower level programs of all Liberty teams last year, so I'm not surprised. I'd say Madison wins and covers.
>
> Oakton @ Tuscarora (-13.0)

What's happened to Oakton? I think Tusky wins and covers.

>
> Potomac Falls (-14.0) @ Langley

I don't know what to make of Langley. I'll take Potomac Falls to win and cover.

I agree. I think Robo wins by a TD.

I'll take Hayfield and the points.

>

After a disappointing loss against Madison, I look for Stone Bridge to win and cover.
>

I believe Stuart will win this outright. I think Annandale is down this year.
>

Nice win by TC on Saturday, but Westfield is very different from Oakton. Westfield wins and covers.
>
> Woodson (-17.0) @ Fairfax

Woodson is improved, but their win against Chantilly says more about Chantilly than it does about Woodson. This is a rivalry game. I think Westfield wins, but doesn't cover.

>

I think this is about the correct spread. I think W-L will win by a TD.

South Lakes wins and covers.

I'm not the troll that keeps saying Westfield is unstoppable but I think it's really impressive how they are so dominant with mediocre demographics, decent enrollment, and despite the fact that they were a victim of a stupid boundary study. I'm assuming all the new South Lakes athletes would've under the previous boundaries went to Westfield. Westfield would've been even scarier then they are now.

Briar Woods @ West Potomac (-3.0)
*I believe this is the first ever matchup between these schools and it should be a great game."

West Po blocked a late BW FG try to win at BW last year. WP wins by 6 this time.

Centreville (-10.0) @ Broad Run
*This is a tough one to predict, this could be a close game but I’m impressed by Centreville’s early scores.

I'll go with Centreville here

Edison @ Marshall (-14.0)
*Edison has been outscored 127-7 in their first two games against strong opponents.

Marshall covers that spread.

Herndon (-8.5) @ Falls Church
*I think Herndon bounces back after an extremely disappointing loss.

Herndon is still a bad, bad football team. Falls Church wins this.

Lee @ West Springfield (-16.0)

Lee covers that.

McLean @ Madison (-35.0)
Madison covers

Oakton @ Tuscarora (-13.0)
Tusky covers

Potomac Falls (-14.0) @ Langley
Langley keeps it closer than that.

Robinson (-6.0) @ Lake Braddock
*This atmosphere is second to none and should be a great matchup between unbeaten. This is high school football at its finest in NOVA.

I'll take the Rams.

South County (-7.0) @ Hayfield
*This will be a fascinating matchup and it will tell me a lot about the status of both of these programs.

South County by 12

Stone Bridge (-14.0) @ Chantilly
Stone bridge covers that.

Stuart @ Annandale (-1.0)
I guess if they actually start the game someone will eventually win, right?

TC Williams @ Westfield (-28.0)
Sounds right

Woodson (-17.0) @ Fairfax
This ones right too

Wakefield @ Washington-Lee (-6.0)
WL wins this

Yorktown @ South Lakes (-17.0)
South lakes wins but doesn't cover that

Yup he should. Look what their rival schools are doing. They have a similar enrollment to Westfield, but much better demographics. The people who make the "they lost athletes to redistricting" argument don't seem to realize that Westfield was also affected by it. But look at the two schools. Oakton clearly has talent as other sports seem to do well, and they have multiple D1 players. So why aren't they doing good? COACHING. Rowley is the worst coach in the district.

Isn't this the same coach that took a mediocre 6-4 regular season team to a region title in 2012? Do you really think he got a lot dumber in four years? Westfield's only lost a portion of Floris which isn't a very big neighborhood to begin with while Oakton's loss of all of Fox Mill was much more impactful. For years after the redistricting FM was sending kids to Oakton for a variety of reasons (not just athletics) but you don't see any of that now.

It's not just the addition of Fox Mill that helped South Lakes turn the program around, they always got good athletes just not enough of them and they didn't have the coaching that could get the most out of them. Taylor's spread offense is a good fit the the type of athletes SL typically gets and he's got a QB who runs it well. It will be interesting to see if SL can keep it going in a couple of years because they still don't have a ton of kids on their roster.

In 2012 Rowley had very good athletes who compensated for his bad coaching a D1 QB, D1 Defensive End, D1 Offensive Tackle

the fact they scored on you and that's a first for your season.

They scored on our back ups with their starters still in but what ever...........

Not that it matters to me one way or the other, since even if you beat Broad Run, we are still going to smash you, but please share with us why Centreville is going to beat Broad Run?
Broad Run won the JV game last year. Their best player is back. Their o-line is bigger and stronger than yours, and you guys lost your two best players. Beating up on Annandale and Fairfax is no way to prepare for any real teams.

So you are right - Centreville can't be better than last year because none of their starters from last year are going to better this season with a year of experience. Centreville was +32 and +27 compared to games against the Atoms and Rebels last year. Oh, I know the other teams just worse. Wait. You will see.

They played last year and West Po came out on top 29-27. Wolverines to win another close one.

Centreville wins but doesn't cover.

Marshall covers easily.

Herndon covers barely. Falls Church looked to have some momentum a couple years ago but they have gone back to the bottom.

> Lee @ West Springfield (-16.0)

Spartans score enough to cover.

> McLean @ Madison (-35.0)

Madison wins easy, whether they cover comes down to coaching choices.

> Oakton @ Tuscarora (-13.0)

Hard to pick Oakton to win after their first two games, but I think they keep it within the spread here.

> Potomac Falls (-14.0) @ Langley

Potomac Falls gets the cover.

> Robinson (-6.0) @ Lake Braddock

Tossup game so I'll go with Lake Braddock covering.

Yeah, big game for both teams. SoCo pulls out the cover but it isn't easy.

> Stone Bridge (-14.0) @ Chantilly

Stone Bridge covers.

> Stuart @ Annandale (-1.0)

Stuart can't stop Annandale's running back.

> TC Williams @ Westfield (-28.0)

Westfield wins easy but TC sneaks in for the cover.

> Woodson (-17.0) @ Fairfax

17 is a big spread for Woodson, but if Fairfax lost to Herndon by 15 they can lose to Woodson by more than 17.

> Wakefield @ Washington-Lee (-6.0)

Total question mark as neither team has shown anything the first two games. W-L just barely covers.

> Yorktown @ South Lakes (-17.0)

South Lakes covers big.

The Skinny, Nailed the West Springfield beat Down last week, on their way to a 4-6 season. Honestly thought Madison would come down to earth, Sorry folks you will just have to wait for the week #11 letdown in Vienna and it is coming. now for the action:

Briarwoods over West Potomac by 10... Briar woods has the Athletes to Play with and defeat, look for Maffe and Springs to have big games.

Centreville vs. Broad Run, Centrevilles first test of the year, look for Centreville to key on Hembry and win by 21...( Broad Run not thee same team as last year in-spite of line(s) and Hembry)

Edison vs. Marshall...Marshall athletes, pad your stats this week you all will look like superstars..Marshall by 24.

Herndon Vs. Fallschurch, Herndon gets back on track and goes home happy by 17.

Lee vs. West Springfield. even the lowly Spartan will find the Win Column this week, Sparty by 6.

Mclean vs. Madison, the Mclean field hockey team would put up a bigger fight, Madison by 29.

Oakton vs. Tuscarora, tusky gets past a lowly oakton..by 6pts

Potomac Falls vs. Langley, Potomac Falls is the Loudon Sleeper, Potomac Falls by 20.

Robinson vs. Lake Braddock, Robinson's Grind vs. LB big Play...Lb's Multi dimensions win it by 3.

South County vs. Hayfield, Look for the McDaniel QB to run the Ship the right way, feeding the ball to Salisbury on the Outside with the Queen on the Bench with Injury. Hayfield will score, However South County prevails by 13.

Stone BRidge vs. Chantilly, this game will be close for a quarter, Stone Bridge grinds them late and often. SB by 20.

Stuart vs. Annandale...Annandale will once again believe they can play football if only for a week. Annandale by 21.

Westfield vs. TC, Westfield maybe looking ahead to SB gives up 2 td's, still wins by 24.

Woodson vs. Fairfax. Both teams coming off of last week slaughters have chosen to play flag football this week instead. Woodson goes with sewn on flags and wins by 20!

Wake field vs. WL Both teams have decided Friday would be better spent at BW3 eating wings and watching College football. Winner will be decided by coin flip, whomever calls tails!

Yorktown vs. South Lakes, South Lakes express continue to impress. will be a while before they slow down. SL by 23.

This is my upset of the week... I was at that SL-Briar Woods games and I liked what I saw from SL but that win came down to 3 big plays. Yorktown is well coached and won't make the same mistakes... I'd say Yorktown 28-27.

GOTW....Robinson vs Lake Braddock

Can Braddock slow down Robinson's running attack? Most likely not, could be a long night for Braddock. I see this 35-7 Robinson

This years team reminds me a lot of the Bendorf years. Great offense and great defense = State title!!

Robinson will win nothing if all they do is run the ball. That is fine in the regular season but if you are one dimensional like that will come back to hurt them in the playoffs.

The Robinson team is interesting. This LB game will be a good test to see how good they actually are or if they are still one dimensional against the tougher teams. I was at the Woodson game and they were actually throwing the ball quite a bit and successfully - much more than last year. However, the QB2 played almost the entire 2nd half and I can't remember how many of their big plays in the 1st half were running vs. passing. Probably more running though, and they had like, 4 interceptions on defense. They have a lot of breakaway speed again this year. Should be a good game.

Lots of people calling for Rowley's head. Not sure where this comes from. Have you seen the team or are you just going on history. The QB broke his collar bone on the first play against TC. They have two starting lineman out (1 being 1 of the D1 kids everyone is talking about.) They have no running backs - but a freshman. They have no speed in the secondary and they are all 5'7.
Just because they lost to Madison doesn't mean they are terrible. I would bet that Madison goes 10-0 or 9-1 this season. They are already 17-2 in their last 19 games - pretty impressive for that little school in Vienna. They should be getting way more respect than they are given.

Another argument being thrown around is the school demo. Have you walked the school? It is basically turned into East Africa and Asia. The strong middle class student has been eliminated from the school. Look at the sports the Oakton dominates - girls sports, swimming, tennis, and distance running. Not basketball or football or lacrosse. Notice the teams that win in football - they dominate in football, basketball and lacrosse.

Rowley is a good coach who is respected by peers. He is not dominate or loaded with talent. If I were him I would leave Oakton too. Oakton is not a job that anyone with brains would take. Coach Thompson and Coach Bendorf both had seasons like this while I have watched Oakton. People called for their heads too. Both coaches had state titles, coach of the year awards, and regional titles. Those just don't go away - people don't change that much. Rowley won coach of the year in 2012. The people on here calling for him to resign are all one parent who shall remain nameless - but if you sit in the stands like I do each Friday - you know who he is.

We all know who he is also, not Rowley's fault the guys kid stinks and stands out not only because he's a foot taller than the 5-7" kids in the secondary.

Numbers don't lie and Oakton's numbers are definetly better than Westfield. Simmons would win atleast 8 games with them.

Idiot, WF doesn't suck, they overlooked TC big time and were only thinking of Stone Bridge next week. Oaktons not back, they played a very weak Tuscarora team. Loudon County schools are being thinned out with a new high school opening every year. WF will finish atop if not top of 6A North. They'll get better every week as they always do, and oh yeah, they now have a real RB, Asante. Watch him light it up which will only benefit Johnson and WF's passing attack.

I've noticed a lot of players are held back in middle school or early high school and get more play time when they finally make varsity after 4 years of playing. That and the 'moving' to other districts to obviously better position themselves with other teams, and the coaches are all in on this shit.

Westfield had an interesting game vs TCW. The highlight of the evening was probably the marching band show at halftime which was pretty awesome.

The Westfield football team looked like they were sleepwalking through much of this game. Gotta say the defensive player of the game for Westfield was #23 Rivers multiple tackles for losses, QB sack, pass breakup just a really terrific game I thought. Too bad he got hurt late hope he is OK. #32 Petrillo also had a fine performance.

Yeah, I saw this #8 Asante get into the game and am wondering why he hasn't been playing more - he's clearly a far better back than anyone else they got. Titans were a big team if they had been able to throw the ball better they might have pulled off the upset. Looked like they were wearing down Westfield both sides of the ball. The type of game reminded me of the South Lakes game actually.

This was Asante's first game back from injury. He's really talented, dominated all the Concorde freshmen teams last year. They are gonna ease him back into the lineup.

I guess Braddock is for real. I thought Robinson would run all over them and they did, but couldn't score! Robinson's defense had a really hard time stopping Braddock. The Adkins kid for Braddock is a beast, with Mansaray and Park, they have more weapons then in the past. They run a 2 QB system, seems to work for them, both QBs have played well.

Heard Hayfield blew a 20 point 4th quarter lead against SoCo?

I attended The Lake Briddock Robinson game. LB is the real deal. Their Running back is really good.

Looks LB is the favorite to win it all this this year. There are about 6 teams who can finish 2nd. Great year for HS football

Well, valiant effort by the Hawks. It was honestly a really close game and I'm more inclined to believe that they are just better than what was previously thought. It was a very exciting ballgame to see. Honestly, I was hoping the Hawks would've won (being that I'm an LB fan, although I decided I'd watch Hay vs SOCO for some reason.). AND as for LB, great job, I knew they were going to win, but not with such disparity. Anywho, what's up with Battlefield? I mean I know that a lot of you always presume that BF will be somewhat competitive, but I kind of doubt that this year hearing about their loss.

Regarding the standings just posted -- you can almost tell which teams will be in the playoffs in 6A and which ones won't.

Here's a summary:

Undefeated teams (Total of 7):

Centreville
Westfield
South Lakes
Madison
Lake Braddock
Mt. Vernon
West Potomac

One loss teams (total of 5):

Robinson
Hayfield
Battlefield (3-1)
South County
Woodson

That's 12 teams

.500 teams:

Patriot
Annandale

One win teams (8 teams):

Osbourn (1-3)
Chantilly
Oakton
Herndon
Washington-Lee
Yorktown
TC Williams
West Springfield

Winless teams:

Stonewall Jackson
Osbourn Park
Langley
Fairfax
McLean

It's hard to see how any undefeated teams will miss out on the playoffs, though in the case of Mt. Vernon, I think most won't be sold until they get another win. The one loss teams likely will be in. For the remaining 4 (or 5, if you discount Mt. Vernon), it will be interesting to see which of the one loss teams rebound.

Wife is out of town, so got to watch Gameday all night and into today. So.. some intel on area's undefeated teams.

Centreville played a sound game, but was still outgained and Broad Run had much higher time of possession. Horrible secondary play by Broad Run contributed to this win. Broad Run better on O-Line and D-Line. Centreville quarterback was pounded all night long, but is gutsy and made some big throws.

Westfield looked very beatable. They are simply not as physically talented as some of the teams that they will line up against this year. Doesn't mean they won't win some of those, just means that it will be more difficult.

Potomac Falls is going to lose three games before crumbling in second round of the playoffs. They had their hands full with a severely limited Langley team.

Lake Braddock rolled over vaunted Robinson Rams. No one really saw this coming. It is early, but they certainly look like a team with a chance to run the table. How many times have we seen this before, however?

Woodgrove is just not as strong as last year. Really had to work to defeat Dominion. Very surprised at how much trouble they had.

Didn't see Madison last night, but they are for real. At least with the schedule they have in front of them. Nice win over Stone Bridge last week. Not all that many tests left on their schedule.

Mt. Vernon - Improvement is measurable, but they will still be two touchdown dogs against top teams, and for good reason.

How dare you question Westfield, Observations Man. We will always be supreme - don't question who we are as we are the best of all time.

Hembry had a lot of yardage - how did Centreville keep Broad Run out of the end zone? Their defense has not let up many points at all this season.

Your comment seems fair. This has to be the smallest sized team I've seen from Westfield in quite a few years. Losing #23 on defense isn't going to help. I think Westfield will struggle against a lot of the bigger teams coming their way.

I don't know about that. Potomac Falls would seem to about the strongest team in Loudoun.

Lake Braddock certainly has some talent at RB. I was expecting this to be a tight game.

Don't know anything about these teams.

Madison looked very good against Stone Bridge.

Who will win the Mount Vernon vs. TC Williams matchup?

For most, this is their last non-conference games. Maybe not enough information to list the winner, but certainly each conferences' top and bottom teams.

Cedar Run:
1.Battlefield ; good, but unfortunately not close enough to see the 6A hell-fest that is Fairfax
2. Patriot ; ^^^^^
3-??.(it's PW, who cares, do you think Osbourn is gonna do anything?)

Concorde:
1. Westfield; maybe not their best year, but just good enough to outshine the other two
2-3. Robinson and Centreville, may take a few weeks to convince me that CVille is making sufficient progress. Robinson brings an honestly, still good running game despite the surprising 22-7 loss.
4. Chantilly; knowing Chantilly's absurd first round luck when it comes to the play offs and Oakton losing harshly to TCW I'll take them as the #4.
5. Oakton^^^^
6. Well, they have the conference's best marching ba-... Wait, maybe not.

Patriot:
1-2. SOCO and LB as usual, probably more in LB's favor due to their consistency
3. West Po; Great team with a fluid offense and some star D-players, could be #2 given a little extra luck.
4-6. MV, Woodson, and TCW will have a great fight out, #6 may be the playoff cut off point.
7. Annadale can sit here and be happy as they remember the time when they were still not born

Liberty:
1-3. This baffles me a lot. They all seem to be a great deal better than even last year when we all shat bricks seeing how well they performed. Though Hayfield last year was the prime loser, just watching them in their recent games shows lots of ACTUAL competitivity and not mere presumption like 2015 with horrid losses against Tusc and SOCO, and a lame win against Edison. South Lakes has hit the jack pot in the last few years with reddistricting and better coaches, their killer spread fits their speed and endurance quite well with a break out win against briar woods probably better than Soco's. Madison, yet another highly improved team and the returning conference champions will not make it easy for anyone to claim that title back despite senior losses, they have lots of developed young players. I say keep a close eye because I can see all 3 of these teams making it to round two.... Considering the fact that playoff sucker punchers Chantilly are REALLY bad this year.

tl;dr - I want to know what goes on in these schools' offseason.

4. Yorktown can contemplate how they thought they were going to win a, what was thought to be an easy conference.

5. W-L will be (conference wise) 3W and 4L

6. Langley- Remember when people thought that Langley was going to arbitrarily be the dark horse of Liberty? They could still become #5, but my interest dissolved.

7. McLean- Their wrestling squad in all honesty could do better, only losing to Hayfield since their wrestling team will probably win their 6th regional title (off topic, but I'm calling Hayfield>Battlefield).

You're missing West Springfield from Patriot. You don't think they'll be last, do you?
