Recommendations for furniture stores

We are newer to the area and looking for a new king size bedroom set. Not sure if we can find something good for under $1500 so need some help on ideas.

Take a trip to NC. Most big stores around High Point send a truck up this way a couple of times a month. I bought the exact same dining room set in NC that was selling for over twice as much at a local furniture store.

I've heard mixed about Bob's. We want something good, but not break the bank. We looked at Ashley's, and their stuff was gaudy and expensive. It looks like we can get a 6-8 piece set under our price at Bob's, just not sure about the quality.

Belfort Furniture in Chantilly off 28 is pretty good, yet expensive.

That's if you want the "buy it once and own it for life" furniture and not the IKEA stuff that will probably break within 5-7 years (they do have a decent warranty though).

The nicest furniture we have is from Haverty's (there is one in Fairfax) and from Belfort, which someone else already mentioned.

We've also gotten some great gently used furniture off of Craigslist (casual kitchen table, entire baby furniture set) and from Salvation Army in Alexandria (China cabinet, set of two couches).

Craigslist in particular has a TON of furniture because this area is so transient. Significantly discounted. If you don't have a van/truck, can always rent one or pay a crew to do it -- there are so many around it's not that expensive. People who list their furniture on CL are usually desperate. The baby set we got off of there I negotiated $150 off just via email before even showing up to see it.

I got a storage cabinet for toys from IKEA for my basement and I HATE IT. The shelves are cheap and always falling off. But I also have a set in one of my kid's rooms and it is excellent. IKEA is a mixed bag. No problems with my Haverty's/Belfort furniture.

I second Belfort. They have a huge showroom and the salesmen are not nearly as predatory as at most furniture stores. Craigslist is also a great resource for quality furniture at dirt cheap prices.

I just bought a bedroom set and mattress to be delivered on Christmas Eve. I paid over 200 for the delivery and full assembly. Should I still tip, especially since it's Christmas eve and how much

Lead time for sofas and upholstered furniture is 6 months from order to delivery

Texas could not keep the electricity on so all the country's foam froze last year

Thanks GOPtards

I remember how my wife and I spent a long time choosing furniture for our living room. We went to local furniture stores, but we either didn't like the furniture, or the prices were too high. We began to browse sites that have home furniture and came across one site where we found a nice cheap L shape sofa from https://www.abakusdirect.co.uk/sofas/by-type/corner-sofas.html . I also plan to make a patio with a small garden. I think the sculptures will look very interesting. I hope this will be a very beautiful place for our future children, whom we are waiting for in October.
