Since you guys are so interested in chain retail, what year did Wal-Mart move into Fairfax County?

90S I think route 1 was the first one followed by fair lakes

You are incorrect.

I'd say... about, like, 1992 or 1993 for that? The first Walmart in the whole area opened May 1992 in Manassas, so then what.

Manassas does not count - Except on their fingers and toes.

Wrong! There is one on RT 3 in F burg , and another on RT 29 in C ville.

I shop regularly at the small one at Springfield plaza, and the bigger one on 236 in Annandale. My only bitch about both KMarts is:

1. They both are too HOT. like 78-80 degrees year round.

2. Checkout is too long. Even with fast checkers, their computer programs SUCK and take too long to complete transactions.

Springfield and Annandale still have Kmarts
